Maigret and the gangsters
It is very rare to have our superintendent investigating around gangland. This episode takes mainly place in Montmartre district of Paris, a very well known gangland district. Nearly a cliché. A former gang boss is assassinated. Maigret investigates and rapidly have to ask questions to many sorts of weird, underworld folks, such as Corsican hoods - a cliché again, cabaret waitresses and other burlesqued men - or travestied women...As you wish.
Good late seventies French atmosphere here, although without many surprises, except some few action sequences. If you love Montmartre and overall old Paris settings, watch it. Michel Blanc plays a police informer. Maigret is not present on every scene of the episode, unlike many others.
One more time directed by the vet Yves Allégret.
