Buniyaad is a very well-written television drama that keeps you hooked throughout its 105 episodes. Set against the backdrop of the Indian Independence and Partition of Punjab, the show is less about historical events and more about the story of Master Haveliram's family. Each character in the extended family of Haveliram has been developed in great detail, which makes the story all the more authentic and engaging. As the story spans a time-period roughly from the 1920s to 1950s, the plot proceeds at a fairly good pace keeping things interesting throughout. The show has a rare feel-good factor that makes you smile across most of its runtime. Buniyaad is surely one of the classics of Indian television, and is a must watch for people of India and Pakistan.
