Spy Hunter is one of those games that feels like its been around since the beginning of video games. Originally released in 1983, it predates just about every modern day franchise, with the exception of only a few sustaining classics like Space Invaders and Pac-Man. The original put players in the driver's seat of a souped-up sports car as a spy, trying to evade and attack enemies. One of the most memorable aspects of the game was its unique top-down perspective that gave players a limited view of the horizon while their car was traveling at high speeds on both land and water. The other game-defining feature was the use of an amazing arrangement of Henry Mancini's Peter Gunn theme song as the soundtrack. Since its original release, Spy Hunter was rebooted in the early 2000s, and now it's seeing its second resurrection on the 3Ds and PlayStation Vita.

"So many pretty parts and no pretty wholes." That basically sums up the motivation behind the title character of Lucky McKee's 2002 breakout film, May. And there was no bigger reason that the film and director found success than the unforgettable star of the film, and the newest Doctor Gash's Tip of the Scalpel honoree, Angela Bettis.
Although she had done sporadic film and television work before starring as the lead character in May (including an outstanding supporting role in Girl, Interrupted, the horror film Bless the Child with Kim Basinger and Jimmy Smits, and the little known thriller People are Dead with Jennifer Carpenter and Kristen Bell), this was the film (premiering at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival) that launched Bettis onto the mainstream horror scene. And since her trumpeted arrival, there has been no turning back for this brilliant actress and horror mainstay.
May was a stunning film in several ways.

Scribe duo all in for Bristol Bay
Bristol Bay Prods. has hired husband-and-wife writing team Yuri Zeltser and Cary Bickley to pen a family comedy centered on a Texas Hold 'Em tournament. When an enterprising eighth-grader unintentionally loses his older sister's savings, the entire family is compelled to converge in Las Vegas for a high-stakes poker match as they learn the true meaning of family along the way. Texas Hold 'Em is a mild obsession of the writing team as Zeltser has participated in many professional poker tournaments. He recently wrote and directed The Circle, a 96-minute feature shot on digital video in one uninterrupted take.
