I apologize in advance to the person who first wrote a comment. I would just disagree totally.
Maybe you are a big social critical but as a 18 years old girl who watches a lot of television I would easily tell that this TV show is really something I am proud of. I didn't work on that project, not at all just in case it seems to be, I just say that as something "made in Quebec, Made in Canada" this is a TV show we should be proud of.
It is well filmed, well developed. Though, I prefer the English version (even if some judges it as really bad) who seems more sincere but let's say that it is "not easy" to put french dialogs for young people and to play them sincerely.. (Because of the fact french people are used to lose their french).
Anyway I really like that TV Show. It is well done. It is not free sci-fi, it has adventures like we like to watch and we really feels what we have to feel when we watch this. And I could not, not mention the game going with that TV show on the website of the Quebec channel "telequebec.TV"(look for 11 Somerset in the TV shows list) who is really well done, interesting and not TOO easy (like it could have been).
8/10 and not less.

Very amateur, low-quality effort that ended up playing Saturday mornings at 8 am on SPACE, right after the Buck a Day MGD infomercials. It has the feel of a student production, and features justifiably unknown actors who butcher the English language in the English version of this supposedly bilingual series (which filmed both English and French versions of the same scripts).
Unfortunately, the fact that the series has been created for a young audience seems to have given the producers, writers and actors license to be satisfied with cheap and sloppy production values, performances and scripts. The result is a product that is probably just as unsatisfying for children as it is for adults.
11 Somerset is another in a long series of productions, such as PSI Factor, Starhunter, Eureka and Lexx, that buck the Stargate/Xfiles effect to demonstrate that Canadian television is uniquely inept when it comes to creating quality science fiction.
