The way Getno was filmed made me watch it, however I found the film to be shockingly simple; it carries the old, typical Hungarian pessimistic mentality, it's ridiculously passing judgment on how Hungarians in the US lost their "souls", insinuating that they gave in the "American way" and to me it also pretty much said that "we, Hungarians are better". How sad... The last words of the film simply made me cringe and I actually found myself loudly commenting on it, though alone. The director needn't explain his message, it's crystal clear, unless he intended the film for foreign audiences as well. I got really frustrated and very upset about the simple point this film conveyed. WHY Salamon, why???? Come on, you can do better than that!!!! We have long ways to go! I'm not saying to forget our past but we must move on and be more opened to the world without our ridiculous judgments that many times are based on things we hear or see on TV or through the media. I give credit for only the pictures and some of the acting. Hungarian film-making has a long way to go in my belief.
