While shooting for the film Rekha gave hard times for Tahir Hussain.This delayed the film for years and he faced huge losses which didn't go well with Aamir Khan.Few years later Rekha and Aamir Khan were working in the film Time Machine where he wanted director Shekar Kapur to replace her with another actress.But the film got shelved after few reels.
The film was delayed for 3 years.
The song "Main Gul Badan" was sampled from Donna Summer song "Love To Love You Baby". Pakistani movie Disco Dancer song " Aaja Jaaneman" also sampled Donna Summer song.
Rekha was not giving dates and because of her the movie got delayed for about 7-8 years. Because of that Aamir Khan refused for Rekha to be in the cast of Time Machine, instead Dimple Kapadia was taken but then this Shekar Kapur movie was shelved.
Aamir Khan's father Tahir Hussein Khan had produced Locket.
