I wasn't surprised at the thank you credit following "Cape Sin" for Bahamas's tourist board, as the XXX movie is a fine advertisement for a vacation idyll on the island. It's a light as a feather movie from talented Adult director Kris Kramski, taking a breather from his more serious projects.
One consistent element of KK's work is signified by the name of his label, Real Productions, as he makes not only documentaries but fictional works that are rooted in reality. This exercise in hedonism is entirely true to its beautiful Bahamian locations, shot on film rather than video, but nothing much interesting happens.
Protagonists are a free-loving couple portrayed by Brooke and Brick Majors, who have the most minor of spats over the course of the movie, but mainly walk around their paradise naked, have sex or masturbate. Kramski's sand and surf stagings are quite inviting, with some beautiful sunsets thrown in for good measure.
Brooke's friend Jenna, played by Wanda Jane/Kelly Adams, shows up with a gal pal (unnamed) played by Neomi Allen, and by the end of the picture all 5 cast members are having group sex together. Before that, Brooke gets perturbed at Brick bedding down with Jenna without telling her in advance, but he ever so easily papers over that altercation by bringing her his pal Jay Ashley as a present -all is forgiven sexually and psychologically.
KK doesn't waste precious time on any other plot elements or characterization, merely depicting Old School writer Brick, pounding away on his manual typewriter, as somewhat neglectful of his girl. Best example of this is a nothing scene where Brooke sort of gets mad that he's reading the newspaper while they have dinner with their guests, a moment, like the infidelity reaction, that blows over immediately.
Casting is the major defect in Kramski's vision here, as all three ladies are similar looking brunettes with slim, fashion model figures, hardly the variety an Adult Film hopefully delivers to the fans. Since it lacks drama or character study, why not throw the viewer a bone or two in the form of sexier, perhaps more voluptuous or at least varied feminine pulchritude?
