Plot

In 1931 in Vienna, Ya Yunlong, a Chinese national studying to be a police officer meets and falls in love with Fanny Ebner. She follows him to his home country and struggles through turbulent cultural and political times.

Based on the real life romance of Du Chengrong and Gertrude Wagner who met while he was training as a police officer in her homeland of Austria. They marry amidst racism and prejudice against their romance and subsequently move back to his homeland China, their love never wavering through half a century of difficult political and cultural changes.—mahajanssen
