When this film was in the making, the tittle of the film was Pyar Ke Dhage (Rakhi Ke Kachche Dhaage) and there is even a song in the film on it. When the shooting was completed the tittle was changed to Ghungroo.
Years later Kunal Goswami admitted the reason why he was not successful was because he became a actor at too young of an age. He was born on November 1965 and that would make him 18 when the film released. The audience could not accept him in adult situations. He could not pass off as a full grown adult. The reason why he became a actor was because when producers would come to see Manoj at home, they would be meet Kunal and be impressed. Kunal had become 6 feet tall and producers felt he could pass off as a leading man in films. But he was only 16 years old still very immature looking . Kunal at first was hesitant. When ever producers would come to see him, he would slip out of the back door to avoid them. Kunal finally decided to take the offers due to several other star sons debuting around the same time. He would later regret this when he realized he should have waited a few more years. Another reason why things went bad was his father would be all the producer's and hear the script first. Then he would quote a huge price that was not economically good for the film. Kunal had zero say in his career. Manoj would stand as a roadblock between producer's and Kunal. Finally when other star sons flopped, many producer's would rather launch a fresh newcomer than a star son. By the time he re debuted in 1989,it was too late. The audience did not want to accept him any more.
Amitabh Bachchan was going to play Suresh Oberoi's role. After his accident in Coolie, he opted out.

Then Sanjeev Kumar did that role and some scenes were shot. Later Manoj Kumar was doing that role. The film always got stuck, then this film was later shelved. Then one day Prakash Mehra started and shelved Jadugar again with Kunal Goswami and Tina Munium.
