Principal Photography was only eight days long, with a day and a half of special effects and pick up shots.
Their were only two locations for the film, a cigar/martini bar in Pontiac, Michigan and the studio, Illuminations, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The sets in the studio were built "in the round", meaning, there was a set in any direction the camera was pointing.
The opening and end credit "mockumentary" interview footage was all ad-libbed.
The ending of the film was re-written because of flaming house "stock footage", that was actually shot by the filmmakers, gave the movie a bigger (and cheesier) ending.
The last 10 minutes of the film were going to be shot in color (aka Creswell-Vision) but the idea was scrapped, mainly because the filmmakers ran out of color film after shooting the opening mockumentary sequence.
