Francesca Blu-ray & DVD Announced: Press Release: “Francesca is a new Giallo film from Argentinian brothers Luciano and Nicolás Onetti (Sonno Profondo, 2013). The film, which made its world premiere at Sitges Film Festival in October 2015, is now coming to home video courtesy of Unearthed Films and Mvd Entertainment Group.

Black Devil Doll! A movie so fantastic, I had to double-dip! Just kidding! This is Black Devil Doll from Hell on steroids—minus the “from Hell” but nonetheless closer to it. Is Chester Novell Turner turning (sorry) in his grave? We’ll have to look closer to find out.

So a Black Power terrorist is given the electric chair, but his spirit lives on. A girl named Heather accidentally summons his soul with an Ouija board, and the spirit moves into a black ventriloquist dummy. She falls in love with the Black Devil Doll but he just wants her for sex (natch), so he has her bring over her pornstar-body friends. She goes to McDonalds and he rapes and kills all of them. We get plenty of white acrylic sperm, copious moaning, and an uncomfortable level of (acidic?) shit. Some of it is erotic, some of it is just nasty.

Well, this week is kind of a wash when it comes to the home entertainment shelves. While there are some releases that might interest you, this is one of barest weeks yet….then again, we are only in the second week of 2012. There are a few Mill Creek releases, including a Spaghetti Western collection and even a Synapse Films release!

The Summer of Massacre (2011)“Terror Toons” mastermind Joe Castro’s balls-out insane horror anthology “The Summer of Massacre” is one of the weirdest cinematic rides you can experience without first ingesting scores of illegal narcotics. The first segment is clearly the most inventive — the body count in this story alone is through the freaking roof — though each chapter has its own unique set of strong points. However, Castro’s approach to on-screen mayhem takes some getting used to. At first you may think the effects look cheap, but by the end of the feature, you’ll grow to appreciate their decidedly peculiar charms. After all, some of the picture’s brutally creative kills couldn’t possibly work without the help of a little homegrown CGI. “The Summer of Massacre” isn’t for the squeamish, nor is it appropriate for those who proudly wash themselves in waters of political correctness. You know precisely who you are.

If the press release is to be believed, the film has the highest body count of any motion picture in history. It’s an interesting gimmick, though it remains to be seen if all of these kills are contained within a film that anyone can stomach. Lots of horror films claim to have insane body counts. However, only one claims to have had it verified by Guinness World Records. The Summer of Massacre anthology film boasts eight slashers introduced across five stories throughout the film and a body count that may be the biggest of all time. Wow, that's quite the pile of dead.

Creators of The Summer of Massacre have reported that Guinness World Records has honored them with the distinction of having the largest body count ever in a horror film. We investigated this claim and unfortunately could not verify it with a search of the Guiness World Records website, but that doesn't mean that the red isn't seriously flowing in this film. This release will feature five stories about serial killers and maniacs—eight of them in total—as they wreck or maim their victims in what Breaking Glass Pictures/Vicious Circle Films says will be a gore-fest for the senses.

Brinke Stevens (Slumber Party Massacre), Nick Principe (Laid to Rest), and Cleve Hall (Nightmare) are just a few names in this star-studded package. And writer/director Joe Castro (Terror Toons 1 & 2, The Jackhammer Massacre) will introduce most of these tales.

Question: GoreZone Magazine has such a dramatic look from other horror magazines why? What made you do it? Why use the tag line ‘Vogue for horror fans’?

Bryn Hammond : Well first and foremost I really don’t read very many horror magazines anymore. The horror boom was great in the 90’s and I loved Fangoria, but it lost that cutting edge it had and I stopped buying it. The recent rumours are very sad.

Every week, we find a new Worst Film Ever and deliver it to you as a public service. These films should be avoided at all costs, but if you absolutely have to see them, strap on your rosary beads and prepare to lose your faith in film! This week’s Worst Movie Ever is: Terror Toons (2002) Synopsis: Candy, a ridiculously well endowed teen (that means she has big boobs) receives a mysterious package in the mail from none other than the Devil, which she confuses with, I guess, her Netflix subscription. This buxom peroxide blonde pops in the DVD to watch the adventures of Dr. Carnage (a doctor) and Max Assassin (a gorilla). Soon, the toons escape their poorly drawn world and turn into gigantic men in poorly made suits who go about slaughtering all those in the house.
