Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake will be joining the Resident Evil 4 remake, Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7 on the App Store before the year is out. Originally revealed back in July as “coming soon” to Apple devices, Capcom has now announced Resident Evil 2 will be available on all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro models, and every iPad and Mac with the M1 chip or later on December 10.
Much like what was done with Resident Evil 4, players will be able to try a portion of Resident Evil 2 with a free download before purchasing the full experience. The game includes support for Universal Purchase and cross-progression, enabling players to enjoy the game across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, while being able to transfer save data between devices.

The PlayStation 5 has been riding high since its launch in 2020, but recent reports suggest the console might be losing its grip on the American market. With Sony itself admitting earlier this year that the PS5 is “entering the latter stage of its life cycle,” as well as controversies surrounding the upcoming PS5 Pro’s pricing, it appears the gaming giant may be facing an uphill battle.

But just when things were starting to look grim, a glimmer of hope has emerged from an unexpected source: the fog-shrouded streets of Silent Hill. The recent release of the Silent Hill 2 remake has not only been a critical success but has also revealed an intriguing trend in sales data that could point the way forward for Sony’s flagship console.

When Capcom released its reimagining of Resident Evil 2 in 2019, it was lauded as one of the best horror games ever made. Since then, it’s been the blueprint for other studios to follow for their (many) remakes. Some were successful, like EA’s Dead Space (2023), which kept just enough of its source material’s DNA intact while updating its combat. Others flopped, like Thq Nordic’s Alone in the Dark (2024), which attempted to completely overhaul an outdated 1992 game, but failed to deliver the level of terror of its modern peers.

If read in order, the subtitles of the first six theatrically released "Resident Evil" movies almost ... almost ... spell out a "Divine Comedy"-like story arc. The first film is, naturally, merely called "Resident Evil" (2002), and it's about the release of a deadly, corporate-owned virus that turns the citizens of the world into zombies, creatures, or merely dead corpses. The film's sequel is subtitled "Apocalypse" (2004), implying that the virus escaped containment and infected the Earth. The third film is called "Extinction," implying that the virus did its job and humanity has become extinct. The arc is pretty clear.
What comes after extinction? Well, the fourth film is called "Afterlife" (2010), following the now-dead humanity into Elysium. How apropos. Sadly, the fifth film in the series is not called "Resurrection" or "Reincarnation," but "Retribution" (2012), kind of breaking the spiritual cycle. Perhaps with "Retribution," humanity has become a gaggle of vengeful ghosts? Or perhaps not.

Among the many fun details in Dead Rising Remaster, one of the most standout features is the sheer number of Easter eggs and references to other Capcom franchises scattered throughout the mall.
This massive Japanese studio has packed this game with nods to various IPs since its original release in 2006. For instance, the game features several references to Mega Man, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and other well-known Capcom titles.
This remaster also modernizes some characters for contemporary audiences, making minor adjustments from the original version. Here are some of the most significant Easter eggs in Dead Rising Remaster.

Just over a month to the day that Capcom’s original port of Resident Evil 2 for PC arrived on Gog.com, the service completes the trilogy with Resident Evil 3: Nemesis arriving on September 25. And like the previous two entries, Gog has done its job tweaking the game to make it “the best version possible” for modern audiences.
As with the other entries, here’s a rundown of what the Gog crew have done for Resident Evil 3: Nemesis:
Full compatibility with Windows 10 and Windows 11. Six localizations of the game included. Mercenaries Mode included. Improved DirectX game renderer. New rendering options. Improved graphics engine initialization and restart. Improved video subtitles. Improved options dialog. Issue-less task switching. Improved mouse cursor visibility. Full support for modern controllers with optimal button binding regardless of the hardware and wireless mode.

Director Zach Cregger was announced last week as the director of Clue – but now he’s swapped that for a Resident Evil reboot.
Zach Cregger is no longer directing Clue. Instead, the Barbarian director is swapping Sony projects, moving from one movie featuring grisly deaths in a mansion to another movie featuring, well… grisly deaths in a mansion.
Just days after being announced as the director of a new Clue film, based of course on the popular murder mystery board game (known as Cluedo in these parts), Cregger has now exited the project.
Cregger isn’t leaving the Sony stable, however. Instead, he’ll be moving over to the PlayStation Productions arm of the studio to tackle a reboot of one of the studio’s most popular and enduring videogame franchises: Resident Evil.
According to The InSneider, the decision comes largely down to money. Cregger is reported to have wanted $4m to direct Clue,...

The upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake has fans excited, but there’s also some concern. The remake is twice as long as the original game, as recently shared by the developers. For many, this sounds like a good deal – more game time, more content, and more chances to experience the eerie world of the game.
However, just because a game is longer doesn’t always mean it’s better. In fact, when it comes to horror games, a longer runtime can sometimes be a problem. The original Silent Hill 2 was tightly paced, with a story that kept players on edge from start to finish. Extending the game might drastically risk losing that tension.

After gracing fans with the 1996 PC port of Resident Evil back in June, fans have been waiting for the port of 1998’s Resident Evil 2 to show up on Gog. That day will be coming soon enough, as Gog has announced that Resident Evil 2 will arrive on the site on August 27.
Gog says that this version of the game “fully reproduces the original elements of this game released in 1998”.
Much like what the Gog team did with Resident Evil, they’ve gone back and tweaked some things for the sequel to make it playable for modern PC gamers that might not have the patience for setting things up. That includes full Windows 10 and 11 support, 6 localizations of the game, new rendering options, improved audio volume and panning, reworked key binding setting and audio settings and more.

Dead by Daylight is known for its terrifying atmosphere and a roster full of iconic killers from horror franchises, including Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Ghostface, Pyramid Head, and many more.
The game’s unique blend of multiplayer survival horror makes it the perfect home for some of gaming’s most frightening characters. Some characters from other games seem like they’d be a natural fit, bringing their own scary abilities and terrifying presence into the game. Here are five characters from other games that would feel right at home.

Big Daddy, the monstrous protector from the Bioshock series, would be a terrifying addition to the game, and be a different type of monster compared to the existing ones. With his massive drill arm and heavy footsteps, he would strike fear into the hearts of any Survivor.

Fans of zombie video games are about to have a field day with this one, as the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is going to drop something that’ll bring the whole fan club together.
In a completely unexpected (but welcomed) twist, the upcoming remaster has teamed up with Capcom to bring fans an exclusive Dlc outfit that you won’t want to miss. Get ready to ‘lick’ your way through zombie hordes, if you catch my drift.
Dead Rising Is Going All Out With a Licker Skin
Worlds are colliding, and it isn’t just a tiny reference or a casual nod in someone’s dialogue. The new Dlc for the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster includes a faithful recreation of the Licker from Resident Evil 2, and it honestly might be a little too faithful considering how grotesque and fleshy it looks.

Capcom recently released its latest financial reports, and the company’s performance is garnering quite a bit of attention. While Capcom’s earnings are down year-over-year, the studio reports that all of its divisions have outperformed internal expectations so far and that the company is well on its way to meeting or surpassing its expectations for the year.
Normally, this information would only be of interest to Capcom shareholders, executives, and fanboys with emotional investments in the company. In this case, though, we’re talking about more than a fiscal quarter. Roughly 10 years after Capcom appeared to be a company in crisis, they are now thriving at a time when turmoil has come to define much of the rest of the video game industry. Well, not every Resident Evil game can be a winner. Sure, the remake of Resident Evil 3 wasn’t as big of a hit as the Resident Evil 2 remake, but that all pales in comparison to the recent iOS port of Resident Evil 7: biohazard, which has sold around 2,000 units since its launch earlier this month.
Per Mobilegamer.biz, the port of Capcom’s 2017 hit has been downloaded just over 83,000 times since it was released on July 2, with under 2,000 users deciding to plunk their money down to unlock the full game. This has translated into Resident Evil 7 earning Capcom an estimated $28,140 on iOS, and that doesn’t include Apple’s cut of the revenue.
It also probably doesn’t help that Resident Evil 7 is only playable on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, and iPads with an M1 chipset. Products that Resident Evil fans aren’t going to be spending...

In a shock to absolutely no one, Capcom confirmed during their Capcom Next event that they are indeed working on a new Resident Evil game. Director Koshi Nakanishi (who previously directed Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 7) uttered the short but sweet phrase, “We’re making a new Resident Evil.”
During the announcement that Resident Evil 7 would be coming to Apple devices tomorrow, Nakanishi chatted about his history with the franchise. In doing so, he revealed that Capcom was working on the next entry in the series, insinuating his involvement. “It was really difficult to figure out what to do after [Resident Evil 7: Biohazard]. But I found it, and to be honest it feels substantial.”
Nakanishi declined to share details on the next entry, but hopes fans will be excited for the day he does reveal those details.

While it’s not quite the Resident Evil that many are hoping for from Capcom, it’s still a welcome sight. It still carries that “Coming Soon” tag, but for those of you itching to see more of the upcoming George A. Romero’s Resident Evil documentary, Residence of Evil has just the thing. Founder J.J. sat down with George A. Romero’s Resident Evil director Brandon Salisbury to chat it up about the documentary, as well as delving into the Resident Evil series itself, Salisbury’s thoughts on Romero’s work and more.
Salisbury first got into the Resident Evil in 1998, when the marketing campaign for Resident Evil 2 was kicking off. “In December 1997, I got a PlayStation 1, and that was when the marketing campaign for Resident Evil 2 ramped up right over the Christmas season.” Salisbury said he was “absolutely floored” by one of the commercials for Resident Evil 2, as up until that point, he had never played a video game that you would even consider a horror video game.

Nicholas Galitzine: The Artist Formerly Known as a Prince?
He’s played Cinderella’s Prince opposite Camila Cabello, the Prince of England in Red, White & Royal Blue and next will play He-Man, Prince Adam of Eternia, in Masters of the Universe. But is Hollywood’s latest “It” boy an actual prince? There has been a ton of speculation in the press that Nicholas Galitzine, 29, descends from a royal bloodline — specifically Russia’s House of Golitsyn (an alternate spelling of his surname), a noble family whose members were executed and exiled during the Russian Revolution. And many Galitzines did wind up in London, where Nick was eventually born in 1994. Unfortunately, that’s where the fairy tale ends. THR has unearthed documentation confirming that Nick’s paternal grandfather legally changed his name to Edward Ralph Alexander Galitzine on April 9, 1956. His birth name? Edward Ralph Alexander Tier. Not many games grabbed attention in the Xbox Showcase as much as the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater did. Originally released in 2004, the game remains one of the most iconic titles of the franchise, and Konami is trying to recapture the magic with a remake. While fans are excited about the game, one feature hinted at on Konami’s website’s about a legacy-style filter that’s left many scratching their heads.
The idea that a remake can be played with a legacy-style filter sounds appealing but could be a cash grab as the original and remake might look identical. Fans are also questioning why the filter is necessary to include in a modern remake.
What Does Legacy Filter Bring to Metal Gear Solid Delta? Metal Gear Solid Delta could be launched this year.

The idea that a remake can be played with a legacy-style filter sounds appealing but could be a cash grab as the original and remake might look identical. Fans are also questioning why the filter is necessary to include in a modern remake.

After bringing the Resident Evil 4 remake to Apple and iOS devices earlier this year, Capcom has now turned their attention to doing the same with Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 remake. Resident Evil 7 will arrive on the App Store on July 2, 2024 for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and every iPad and Mac with the M1 chip or later, while Resident Evil 2 is still being developed.
Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 will provide “console quality experiences” running natively on Apple devices, utilizing Apple’s MetalFX Upscaling technology to “deliver impressive visuals and remarkable performance on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.”
Much like what Capcom did with RE4, players will be able to try a portion of each game at launch with a free download before accessing the full experience with a single purchase. Both titles will also offer Universal Purchase and cross progression between iPhone, iPad, and Mac,...

The popularity of the Fallout franchise is currently riding the crest of a wave following the hugely popular Prime series. This has increased sales for titles, with many fans re-visiting various games for a renewed adventure in the wastelands. To say that Bethesda are joyfully rubbing its hands may be an understatement.
Given the popularity of the franchise and its impressive array of supporting characters, it is perhaps no surprise to see modders adapting them into other titles. It’s nothing new to see this happen; they can have varying degrees of success. However, it is the Fallout Mod which has been adapted for another popular franchise that has surprised many fans

Dusk Golem, a prominent Resident Evil leaker, has some disappointing news for Resident Evil 9 fans. Although he previously stated that the game would be coming in the summer of 2025, it seems that the game has been internally delayed and will instead come out in 2026.
This is a part of his most recent leaks, which includes the revelation that the next two Resident Evil games to be remade will be Resident Evil 0 and Code Veronica, instead of Resident Evil 1 or 5.
Resident Evil 9 Won’t Be Announced This Summer
Resident Evil 9 will be the next big mainline entry after Village.
A longer development time could indicate a larger and more complex Resident Evil experience, and this is rumored to be an open-world game and extremely ambitious. The delay might allow for more refinement and ensure the game lives up to the series’ high standards, as Capcom has produced a lot of high quality titles recently.

Capcom has undoubtedly had major critical and commercial success with its Resident Evil (Re) franchise over the past decade. So, it’s no surprise that the developers have continued to double down on the survival horror franchise and give us remakes after remakes. Various reports suggest that Capcom is already working hard on Resident Evil 0 and Code Veronica remakes.
While this has caused massive hype among fans of the franchise, many of them are equally disappointed and frustrated with Capcom. For years, fans have been hoping to get a remake of the original Resident Evil game. Few reports suggested that the developers were actually working on the project. However, prominent leaker Dusk Golem says the alleged Resident Evil 1 remake isn’t going to see the light of the day anytime soon.

The Resident Evil series has been on a roll lately. Whether it be the exceptional remakes Capcom keeps producing, or the continuation of the series with games like Village, it’s clear that there’s no stopping the most popular zombie game series ever. And the recent rumors only add more excitement to the fray.
Not only have leaks of the upcoming installment started spreading, but recently, rumors of a potential remake of Resident Evil 1, yes, the original game, have started surfacing. Though these are still rumors, there seems to be good enough evidence to suggest that this remake will take fruition and should keep hardcore fans happy until the next big original game.

Saying Phil Spencer is one of the most disliked people in the gaming community wouldn’t be too much of a stretch currently. Xbox’s decision to shut down multiple beloved studios in a single day, has brought out the wrath of consumers from all corners of the community.
Tango Gameworks, one of the affected studios, was especially beloved by many gamers, as some of its staff were revered creatives in the industry. As players discover more about the faces behind Tango, their anger for Microsoft’s gaming brand only grows.

Phil Spencer isn’t winning any favors as gamers look at Tango’s staff’s credentials.
It was a sad day for many when an e-mail announcement from Xbox head Matt Booty was sent out to a ton of studio staff, stating that Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, and Alpha Dog Games (Mighty Doom) would be closed.

Throughout gaming history, there have always been a few moments that have caught players off guard, one of which is stealth sections in games. This causes the player to stop playing through the action-packed game they paid for and sneak past enemies.
Reasons Why Stealth Sections in Games Can Be Both a Pain and a Change of Pace
Keep in mind that this is a list of many different reasons, both positive and negative, why stealth sections in games are included and what purpose they have. As an additional note, this list doesn’t focus on games that already focus on stealth aspects, but on games that shouldn’t include stealth.

Silent Hill 2 is one of the most popular horror titles out there, and since Konami surprised the fans with the remake of the title, fans have been excited about it. However, Konami has not given any further details on it, and there is no release date as of now. Despite the lack of official detail, fans have come across a change with the protagonist that makes it seem like there is more work left to be done than anticipated, and they are not happy.

EA recently announced that developer Motive Studio will be assisting in the development of the Battlefield franchise while continuing their work on an upcoming Iron Man game. Fans of that studio quickly realized that many of the people involved with Motive’s critically acclaimed 2023 Dead Space remake are now seemingly working on at least one of those two other projects. Yet, EA made no mention of the Dead Space 2 remake that Motive was reportedly supposed to be working on. That notable lack of information caused Dead Space fans to fear the worst.
Now, Jeff Grubb is reporting that Motive has essentially shelved their previously planned Dead Space 2 remake for a reason that has long haunted the Dead Space franchise like so many Necromorphs: disappointing sales.
“They were working on Dead Space 2, and they are no longer working on it,” said Grubb during a recent podcast regarding Motive’s upcoming projects.

What’s the saying? Oh yeah… third times the charm and the Resident Evil series is no exception. For our third outing we’re here to explore the aftermath of the apocalypse with Resident Evil: Extinction (watch it Here). This one is pretty divisive with the consensus being some people, like myself, loved this film while others felt this was the beginning of the downward slope of sequels of the franchise. Hear me out as to why I sing its praises. For one, it tells a cohesive story and gives us a side of Alice that we’ve been dying to see. We get more new characters that bring gravitas to the story as well as a fully fleshed out villain and it’s a lot of fun. Plus, its pays homage to The Road Warrior in the best way. So, let’s hit up the Sand Dunes of Vegas,...

New leaks hint at Dragon’s Dogma 2 not being the only open-world game from Capcom for a while. After a recent info dump by industry insider Dusk Golem, Capcom’s upcoming projects seem to be following a pattern of innovation and evolution.
Known for its iconic franchises like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, the company seems to be delving into new territories while retaining the essence of these beloved series.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Might’ve Set a Precedent for Resident Evil 9
RE9 might follow the open-world formula of Dragon’s Dogma 2
Dusk Golem explains that Capcom tends to greenlight new initiatives in threes, often in close succession. This pattern has been observed in the past with games like Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, and Devil May Cry 5, which were all greenlit closely together to use the full extent of the (at the time) new Re Engine.

Alone in the Dark is an extremely important franchise within the sub-genre of survival horror. The first game in the series is considered by many to be the first true survival horror video game ever released. Thus, without this franchise, other iconic survival horror titles like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Alan Wake may never have come to pass.
This is one reason that this reimagining of the original Alone in the Dark was my most anticipated 2024 release, the other reason is because survival horror remakes have been knocking it out of the park lately. Last year alone saw Capcom expertly remaster the iconic Resident Evil 4, after the year opened with EA releasing a masterful remake of the original Dead Space.
All of this combined with the star power of David Harbour and Jodie Comer in the lead roles meant that Pieces Interactive’s 2024 reimagining of Alone in the Dark...

1998’s Metal Gear Solid is one of those rare undisputed classics. Hailed as a revolutionary release in its day, the game’s reputation has arguably only grown since then. If you’re like me, you may even still prefer that game over some of its stellar sequels due to its comparatively subdued style.
Hey, I love Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, but after decades of short film-length cutscenes, obtuse dialog, and generally escalating weirdness, I sometimes look back at Metal Gear Solid and long for its comparatively grounded nature.
But what if I told you that there was a significantly weirder official version of Metal Gear Solid? Actually, what if I told you that version of Metal Gear Solid may be the strangest and most bizarre chapter in a historically strange series of games?

As the dawn of the new millennium approached, the world would start to see a trend of films that would become very mainstream. These types of movies are action horror video game adaptations. As stated in our previous video, there have been a number of different ones, but nothing stood out more than Resident Evil. In 2002, we were graced with the first in this series. It may not have been the critic’s favorite, but it did well enough at the box office to spawn a sequel. The name of that sequel is Resident Evil: Apocalypse (watch it Here). Last October, it was revealed that the film will be called Final Destination: Bloodlines… and now cinematographer Christian Sebaldt has shared an image that indicates Final Destination: Bloodlines will be heading into production soon! Alan Wake 2 is an incredibly good-looking game. Anyone who doubts this statement can just watch any clip of this game, and they will know. And there’s no surprise here either; developer Remedy Entertainment has made it their thing to bring some very good-looking games to their fans. This started with Control, a game that launched back in 2019.
This continued with their recent title, Alan Wake 2, a game that looks and plays incredibly well. As the name suggests, it is the continuation of a years-old game, unsurprisingly called Alan Wake. While the sequel was much awaited and looked incredible, there were a lot of fans who could not play it due to its high PC spec requirements, but it appears the developers have decided to change that with their latest patch.

Over the years horror has evolved into many weird, wonderful and gruesome as f**k genres; the 70s saw slashers emerge with films such as Prom Night and Halloween, then by the 90s (and beyond) the Scream franchise took on the horror mantle for slasher flicks. We’ve also been treated to classic monster movies that began with the likes of Frankenstein in 1931, to the sexy, arthouse stylings of Giallo horror, while splatter flicks, also known as torture porn, burst onto the scene in the brutal eye-gouging form of Hostel, while the supernatural still play a major role in scaring audiences nowadays. Of course, these are just the tip of the spooky iceberg when it comes to the delightful smorgasbord of horror subgenres, and there’s one that continues to thrill fans on both the small screen and theatrically; the zombie movie. However, up until 2004, the zombie genre had offered some amazing titles,...

This post contains spoilers for the "Resident Evil" film franchise.
Umbrella Corporation. The name will forever be associated with unsavory, downright evil acts within the "Resident Evil" universe, catalyzing the events that define the franchise. Although Capcom's "Resident Evil" games have their own set of canonical events concerning Umbrella Corp., the film adaptations that branched into their own universe also paint this multinational conglomerate in a rather infamous light. In every iteration, Umbrella is never up to any good: be it the manufacture and mass production of biological weaponry, or ushering a new race of virus-enhance monstrosities. At the end of the day, the "Resident Evil" films also fit the survival-horror mold, with a woman named Alice (Milla Jovovich) at the center of the horrors crafted by none other than Umbrella.

Ah the early 2000s. The Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube were the hottest videogame consoles around. Limp Bizkit, Smash Mouth, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, and Usher were ruling the airwaves and little did we know we would be blessed with tons of horror video game movie adaptations as well. Granted, some weren’t that great, looking at you House of the Dead, Doom and Alone in the Dark. But there also were some fun films from this genre…Silent Hill and Resident Evil. At the time, both weren’t exactly loved by critics, but they did have their fans and have each spawned sequels. Snoop Dogg is going from frolicking through fields of green to laying down the law on a football field in Prime Video’s The Underdoggs trailer! Charles Stone III directs this R-rated comedy featuring world-famous rapper Snoop Dogg as Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings, a washed-up ex-professional football star who has hit rock bottom. When Jaycen is sentenced to community service coaching the Underdoggs, an unruly pee-wee football team in his hometown of Long Beach, California, he sees it as an opportunity to rebuild his public image and turn his life around. As Jaycen works to transform the foul-mouthed Underdoggs into top-notch champions, he reconnects with his past, including an old flame and a few of his ex-teammates, and rediscovers his love of the game.
Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis wrote the script, with Tika Sumpter, Mike Epps, Andrew Schulz, and George Lopez starring alongside Snoop Dogg as primary cast members.
