Amid reports that Yellowstone has been canceled, fans are curious about the off-screen drama involving the show’s biggest star.
In case you weren’t aware, this appears to be a rough time in Kevin Costner’s personal life.
Last year, he was served with divorce papers by Christine Baumgartner, his wife of 18 years.
Shortly thereafter, it was confirmed that the veteran star was going through a split in his professional life, as well.

In May of 2023, Paramount announced that Yellowstone would end its five-year run.
Now, with the show’s (allegedly) final slate of episodes less than a week away, fans have a lot of questions.
Is the series still coming to an end, as planned? Are the reports of Costner’s diva-like behavior accurate?...

It’s been seven years since Aloy first ventured into the post-apocalyptic wilderness that was once Earth. In that time, she’s had quite the adventure, but her story began in the ruins of the old world. Now a remaster invites players, both new and familiar, back to where it all started.
Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn was an instant hit in 2017, wowing players with its visually stunning open world filled with mysterious mechanical beasts. Taking on the role of outcast Aloy, they uncovered secrets of the old ones’ final days and fought to save humanity’s future. The accolades rolled in as more fell under the spell of Aloy’s sriveting tale.
A remaster isn’t a full remake. It doesn’t entirely rebuild the game from scratch but rather gives the original graphics and features new life through additional polish. Here that means tweaks like sharper textures, improved lighting,...

Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 composer John Debney found a kindred spirit in actor-filmmaker Kevin Costner when the two met making Hatfields & McCoys over a decade ago, both for their shared love of the Western genre and their proud status as native Angelenos.
“We both grew up out here, and so it’s kind of weird when you grow up out here,” Debney said on stage at Deadline’s Sound & Screen event Friday night. “My dad was in the film business for 40 years, so I sort of grew up on sets and it was like that we connected on sort of a visceral level, from the same experience.”
And when Debney and Costner discussed collaborating on Horizon, they discovered their passion for the Western genre shared an origin story. “As a kid, I used to ride horses with my father in the hills of Griffith Park – yes, there are riding trails in Griffith Park!

Of all the globally acclaimed masterpieces he has starred in to date, perhaps very few have garnered Kevin Costner as much attention as Yellowstone. Not only did the series launch him as the iconic head of the Dutton family, John Dutton, but the masterpiece helmed by Taylor Sheridan also cemented and elevated his position and status in the Western genre.

Of course, that was all in the past, for Costner seems to have moved past the ranch-y saga following his exit after season 5A. But when it goes back to the beginning, the actor had an incredibly good reason for hopping on board this spectacular series. If anything, his Western criteria seem to be just what helped him land and make such an amazing saga alongside Sheridan in the first place.

As Yellowstone is ready to roll out its Kevin Costner-less episodes in a few days, the former Dutton family patriarch is reportedly moving into ‘uncharted waters’. Costner may be done with Western drama for the time being after his passion project Horizon failed to impress the audience. The Dances with Wolves is allegedly trying to get close to the surfing world for his new project, Headhunters.

Kevin Costner Reveals the Real Reason Behind His Yellowstone Exit—What It Means for the Future of the Series! ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
In a revelation as dramatic as the Dutton family saga, Costner admitted that contract negotiations couldn’t cut it. Taking the stand during a child support hearing, Costner dropped the real reason behind his sudden exit. Per multiple reports, it all boiled down to money and creative control. “They offered me less money than previous seasons,” Costner said, as reported by People. “We tried to negotiate… I couldn’t help them anymore.”
Costner’s departure sent shockwaves through the Yellowstone fandom earlier this year when rumors swirled about tension on set. In June, co-creator Taylor Sheridan shared his frustration, admitting that Costner’s exit disrupted the closure of John Dutton’s storyline. “It truncates the closure of his character,” Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter. There are very few mangas that encapsulate dark themes. Be it corruption or powerplay, such works are a true rarity. Oshi no Ko is one such example with its portrayal of idol culture.
The series started as a rager with its first premiere. It is considered one of the finest works in the seinen genre. With its recent developments, however, we may have spoken too soon.

Aka Akasaka’s masterpiece took a nosedive with the manga’s recent chapters. But what surprised fans was the latest announcement. Like Jujutsu Kaisen, the manga is treading on thin ice.
With this sudden and unanticipated announcement, one thing is certain. The series fell flat in living up to the mangaka’s vision, especially through its misrepresentations.

Kevin Costner might have left "Yellowstone" behind following the end of season 5A, but his shadow will always loom large over the popular Paramount series. As John Dutton III, head of the Dutton ranch, Costner very much defined the show, helping propel its success and bringing his significant experience with Westerns along with him. Costner knows what makes a Western succeed or fail, with the actor telling People:
"I've always believed a good Western isn't always just rushing towards its gunfight. If you can create language and situations, and then you end up at a gunfight, I think it can be an amazing movie or TV show."
In other words, Costner likes some actual acting alongside his action when it comes to Westerns, and what better way to flesh out characters than with a five-season series that paints a vivid and complex picture of life on a Montana ranch.

After over a year hiatus, Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 will land in November later this year.
Four and a half seasons of the Taylor Sheridan series have followed the Dutton Family, led by patriarch Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, who oversees the largest cattle ranch in the modern-day United States. The Dutton family faces constant challenges from those at its borders — the growing Bozeman, Montana, the fictional Indian reservation of Broken Rock and America’s first national park.

Kevin Costner pops up a fair amount in the trailer for Yellowstone season 5 part 2. He just won’t be in the show itself.
Much of the story of Yellowstone over the last 18 months has concerned what’s not happening on screen as much as what’s on it. After the show screened the first half of season five, coming to an end in January 2023, there’s been a lot of waiting. Waiting for it to come back, and waiting to see if Kevin Costner would reprise the lead role of John Dutton.
Well, the show’s back from 10th November 2024, and as you probably know, it’s going to be Kevin Costner-less. Costner is pursuing his Horizon series of movies, amongst other projects, and for whatever reason, Yellowstone schedules didn’t line up.
Paramount thus has faced an interesting challenge here as to how to sell the programme now that its lead actor has gone.

Ever since 2018, Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone took the world by storm. Set against the rugged backdrop of Montana, the show centered around the Dutton family, led by patriarch John Dutton, played by the 69-year-old star. The show blended elements of family drama, political intrigue, and the harsh realities of the American West, which brought it a huge fan following. However, the 4th season of the series ran into a few problems.

Back in 1994, everyone expected Kevin Costner’s Waterworld to be one of the biggest box office disasters of all time. The press was labeling it “Fishtar” (after the infamous flop Ishtar) or “Kevin’s Gate”, but to the surprise of everyone, it actually did fine at the box office and turned a small profit. However, Costner did indeed have a massive box office disaster just a few years later when he opted to make another post-apocalyptic action movie, The Postman (which he also directed), which opened opposite James Cameron’s Titanic and laid a massive egg in theatres.
Reviews were harsh, with his take of a nomadic drifter posing as the world’s last postman widely mocked for its mix of action and over-the-top sentiment. It swept the Razzies, but even worse was the fact that it only grossed $30 million worldwide, which was disastrous, and ended up torpedoing Costner’s...

Kevin Costner's most recent directorial effort was the expansive American history epic "Horizon: An American Saga - Part 1." The film, running 181 minutes unto itself, was meant to be the first of four equally expansive epics that would chronicle the phenomenon of Arizona boomtowns in the 1860s. The cast included Sam Worthington, Sienna Miller, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Jena Malone, Luke Wilson, Will Patton, and dozens of others. Costner himself played Hays Ellison, a horse trader with a past.
The critical response to "Horizon Part 1" was lukewarm, with critics citing the film's expansiveness as a weakness that robs it of a vital narrative throughline. The photography is beautiful, but "Horizon" is lugubrious and unfocused. The first two parts were filmed back-to-back and reported cost $100 million to make, with Costner contributing $39 million of his own money. When the first "Horizon" film only made $29 million domestically, New Line Cinema pulled "Part 2" from its release schedule.

Kevin Costner didn’t just step into his role for one NASA movie—he practically limped. Turns out, while filming the NASA-centered drama, Costner was actually on morphine, fighting through real pain for one of the most demanding roles of his career.

"Yellowstone" is turning into more of a mystery show than a neo Western drama as it goes on. Not in terms of its subject matter, but in terms of the multiple questions swirling around Taylor Sheridan's mega popular series as it approaches the end of its fifth season. Take, for example, Kevin Costner's high-profile exit from the show, which saw the actor and Sheridan trading barbs and assigning blame for the long delay between 2022's season 5A and the upcoming season 5B (which may or may not constitute the series finale). Will we ever really know what happened behind the scenes? Is Costner ever going to return to the role of Yellowstone ranch owner John Dutton III? If not, how the heck has Sheridan managed to wrap up the series without its leading man in season 5B?
These questions have thus far have gone unanswered, though with season...

The hit Taylor Sheridan series finally returns to Paramount Network on Nov. 10 for its anticipated Season 5 Part 2. (The last episode aired way back in January 2022.) And you can get a look at the new season thanks to a brand-new trailer. Watch it below:
Now, there are a few things that might catch your attention in that trailer — chiefly the appearance of Kevin Costner, whose behind-the-scenes battle with Sheridan led to the actor leaving the series. But here he is in this trailer. Was the footage filmed during the 5A shoot? We are very confused.
Also, there is no mention, in the trailer, that these six episodes are the final episodes of “Yellowstone” proper. Costner’s exit led to a creative shift that saw producers sunset “Yellowstone” and introduce a new concept with some of the key cast members.
For a while it appeared that “The Madison,” intended to star Matthew McConaughey,...

The Dutton family civil war in Yellowstone breaks out into open warfare in the official trailer for the second half of season five.
“I can’t do this anymore,” anxious cattle rancher’s daughter Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, says at one point in the trailer. “Well, you’re gonna have to, honey. Or we’re gonna lose this place,” her ranch hand husband, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), warns her as the Paramount Network drama makes its long-awaiting return after the first five episodes of season five ended back in January 2023.
“This war is just beginning,” says Kevin Costner, who is not returning after his high-profile exit from the Yellowstone ranch as John Dutton, and yet appears very much in the trailer in scenes likely to wrap his character. In a major cast disruption, Costner left the show after the fifth season hiatus for Yellowstone, partly to focus on his Horizon film saga.

Law & Order: Svu fans were excited to see Kelli Giddish reprise her Detective Amanda Rollins role this past Thursday, October 17 during Episode 3, Season 26, of the show, which was titled, ‘Divide & Conquer.”

While Rollins has guest starred on the drama here and there (later in Season 24 after she left and two shows in Season 25) the explosive comeback in Season 26 has created a ton of buzz among viewers.

To anyone paying attention, it seems Kevin Costner and "Yellowstone" are forever separated. After the actor, who plays ranch owner John Dutton, bowed out of the hugely popular neo-Western series during its season five break, a protracted mud-slinging match took place, with Costner on one side and Paramount and series creator Taylor Sheridan on the other. For their part, the network and Sheridan maintained that Costner's commitment to his "Horizon" saga of films made planning the second half of season five difficult, while Costner claimed he never even saw scripts for the remaining episodes and wasn't about to wait around when he had a cast and crew ready to go for his passion project.
"Yellowstone" was also hampered by the Hollywood strikes of 2023, which combined with the Costner debacle meant that season 5B of the series was ultimately pushed from November 2023 to November 2024. What's more, with Costner seemingly out, Paramount...

Still, what does this mean for a Shick reunion?

It's hard to imagine the second half of "Yellowstone" season 5 being any more contentious than it is. Taylor Sheridan's massively popular Western series ran into trouble after season 5A aired back in 2022. The Hollywood strikes of the following year, combined with star Kevin Costner's frustration with the shooting schedule meant that "Yellowstone" season 5B became a huge question mark. For Costner's part, he claimed he was unable to devote his time to the "Horizon" saga, a series of Western films that represented a passion project for the veteran star. Costner, who plays ranch owner John Dutton in "Yellowstone," claimed he hadn't received any scripts for season 5B of the show, and therefore chose to depart the series rather than wait around to find out when or if he'd be allowed to shoot the movie, "Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1," which regrettably ended up bombing at the box office.

Kevin Costner has revealed his first post Horizon film project, a thriller entitled Headhunters, Costner will star, co-write and produce.
Nobody can accuse Kevin Costner of being lazy. He has financed, produced, co-written, directed and co–starred in Horizon: An American Saga, which was conceived as a four film series, each one pushing the three hour mark.
The second instalment was pulled from the release schedule in August before finally premiering at the Venice Film Festival in September, but nevertheless Costner is currently pressing ahead with chapters three and four, with the plan being to shoot them back to back to save on production costs. There is still no confirmation as to when we might see chapter two in the UK. The first film is available to purchase on Amazon Prime

Kevin Costner‘s “Horizon” saga may be on a bit of forced hiatus, but it looks like he’ll have some other work in the interim. Deadline reports that the actor will star in, co-write, and co-produce the upcoming surfer thriller “Headhunters,” the feature directorial debut of “Missing” Dp Steven Holleran. Based on the synopsis, the upcoming film couldn’t be more different than “Horizion”: a lean, mean survivalist drama set in the south Pacific.

In the world of gaming, major titles aim to capture players’ attention with their release. However, Sony’s Horizon series always finds itself overshadowed by rival releases. The franchise is very popular and is known for delivering compelling gameplay and stunning visuals, but it has also been plagued by unfortunate timing that somewhat dilutes its release impact.

With Yellowstone season 5’s conclusion starting in November, Kevin Costner has reiterated that he’d be open to a return to the show.
Returning to TV screens after a far longer than expected absence is the TV show Yellowstone. It’s due back next month, but for the first time will be missing its lead star: Kevin Costner.
It’s a case of who do you believe. On the side of CBS and show creator Taylor Sheridan, the argument is that Costner wasn’t available, and waiting for him led to the 18 month delays between episodes. For Costner’s part, he argued that scripts weren’t ready and dates shifted to the time he’d set aside to make his Horizon series of movies.
Bottom line: when Yellowstone returns for season 5 part two, Kevin Costner won’t be in it. Furthermore, Paramount is pushing this as the return of the show,...

Despite being a sequel to a movie that made a billion dollars worldwide, Joker: Folie à Deux has posted a truly disastrous opening. According to Deadline, the film didn’t even crack $40 million this weekend, with them estimating a horrible $39 million finish. That’s over $20 million less than we expected in our box office predictions, which is crazy as just a few months ago, no one would have thought it conceivable that the film would open to anything less than $90 or so million. The $39 million opening is even worse than the $55 million opening posted by The Flash, and The Marvels, which opened with $46 million. Both openings were considered disastrous, and Joker: Folie à Deux looks like it might not even cross $100 million domestically.

There's a long history of unusual and downright wild contract stipulations in Hollywood. On the unusual side, when Jack Nicholson signed on to play "The Joker" in 1989's "Batman" he not only negotiated a huge back-end deal that ensured the box office hit likely never made Warner Bros. any money, but he was also afforded time off to watch Lakers games and given top billing over Batman himself, Michael Keaton. On the wilder side, alt-comedy legend Andy Kaufman agreed to appear in a recurring capacity on "Taxi," but only if his alter ego -- sorry, "friend" -- Tony Clifton could appear in an episode.

The Gaming Industry has been through a lot in the past few years, and the player base has enough reason to be concerned about the future. Previous generations have had an established path for each competitor like Microsoft and Sony, two major gaming corporations battling with unique strategies.
While each platform has unique strengths like hardware and first-party software, one of the two is making some moves that can breed catastrophe or the right step forward for the future of gaming. Perhaps the time has come for these gaming corporations to abolish the old ways and start anew.

For all its scandals and complexities, Yellowstone has done one thing right by resurrecting the Western career of Kevin Costner. The actor has been in love with the idea of the Old West more than his own survival (how else can one explain the decision to fund his savings and assets into a failing project). But money can only go so far before the intended audience finds out their cinematic taste is better invested elsewhere.

For Kevin Costner, the price of success always came at a great cost. He was a man out of time – or more accurately, of a bygone era – who still felt like he spiritually belonged to the days of the Old West. His glory days essentially consisted of being a cowboy, a gunslinger, or a hero of the American West.

Costner, in that sense, was not solely an extension of John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. He was an entirely new breed of Western actor who had to adapt to the emerging generation of sci-fi thrillers and action adventures to fund his passion for the outdated genre. In the end, his dream won out when Dances With Wolves gave him proof that Westerns were far from done with reigning over the Hollywood box office scene.

The highly anticipated Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again will surely have a big influence on MCU television going forward, with many fans considering it a potential turning point. Why?
Well, Marvel now has access to a wider cast of characters than it has in the past, which presents a lot of interesting options, but Daredevil and the other characters grouped under the original Marvel TV umbrella already have their own histories, so it will be interesting to see how Marvel will reconcile that.

The actors have been throwing hints at us here and there, and it seems that Vincent D’Onofrio, who is playing Kingpin in the series, just provided us with another major hint.
Namely, D’Onofrio was a guest at the recently-held Dragon Con,...
