Brutal: Paws of Fury

Tired of all the classics or all the blood and gore that plagues fighting games? Then I'd recommend this game, while it can't compete with high quality games like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat there's a lot of charm to be had here. What you've got is a cartoonish fighting game with animals, with different fighting styles, personalities, and goals for entering a tournament. My two favorites are Kung Fu Bunny (think Bruce Lee meets Bugs Bunny) with his flashy kicksets and Foxy Roxy (the sexy fox girl wearing a two-piece lycra) who has lovely gymnastics into her fighting style. The graphics grab you and the enchanting music pulls you into to exotic scenes. The gameplay however, is a bit flawed, basically a little stiff, sometimes its hard to pull off a special move which takes quite a bit of practice. If you do the single player mode you can't use special moves unless you earn them every 2 fights, which can put you at a disadvantage, at least at first, though the first move you learn (a taunt) is quite useful as you recover health. From that point on you learn better moves including the katas. You can't save your progress you have to use the outdated password system which is quite long and tedious. Other than those I'd return to this time and time again even if we've all moved on.
