"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!" These are the immortal words that begin the song "Making Our Dreams Come True," the catchy tune used as the theme song of the popular series, "Laverne & Shirley." Cindy Williams, the actress who played the perky and positive albeit meek Shirley Feeney, has sadly joined her co-star Penny Marshall, passing away at the age of 75. Williams' children Zak and Emily Hudson confirmed the passing with the Associated Press following a brief illness.
"The passing of our kind, hilarious mother, Cindy Williams, has brought us insurmountable sadness that could never truly be expressed," the statement said. "Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege. She was one of a kind, beautiful, generous, and possessed a brilliant sense of humor and a glittering spirit that everyone loved." While Williams' Shirley didn't possess the monogrammed "L" like Laverne,...

Many fans’ dreams came true when Lionsgate announced Tuesday that “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda would be a creative producer and “musical mastermind” to help the studio develop and produce an adaptation of Patrick Rothfuss’ “Kingkiller Chronicle” fantasy trilogy. The biggest fan of Rothfuss’ work may have just been Miranda himself, who has never been shy about his love for the books and author on social media. The studio is mounting a feature film and accompanying TV series adaptation of the fantasy series, which follows musician Kvothe and his own three-day autobiographical account of his adventures. The biggest fan convention is looking to launch a branded awards show franchise. I’ve learned that Comic-Con International and Lionsgate, partners in the new video streaming service Comic-Con HQ, are in talks to create a Comic-Con awards show based on the 46-year-old event itself that would draw on its big fan base. Details are sketchy as the idea is still in its early stages, but I hear the conversations are being led by David Glanzer, Chief Communications and Strategy…...

Dougray Scott in a rare quiet moment on Strike Back
We’ve occasionally discussed the Cinemax action series Strike Back, primarily because of the amusing juxtaposition between its hyper-masculine, testosterone-driven, Call Of Duty straight male appeal, and it’s propensity to get its hot male co-stars completely naked every chance they can.
Sullivan Stapleton, overdressed
Season Three (Season Four in the UK) of Strike Back premiered on Cinemax on August 9th, and sadly, the flesh feast has been paltry compared to previous seasons. But another intriguing element has been added this season, as Dougray Scott (from Ever After, and he was in the running as James Bond, and was actually cast as Wolverine in the first X-Men movie, but had to pull out because of a scheduling conflict with Mission Impossible 2) has joined the cast as rogue operative James Leatherby.

The sequel to the first Silent Hill film, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, hits theaters worldwide on Halloween (October 31st).
I had the chance to meet up with the stars of the film, Adelaide Clemens and Kit Harrington, in New York City this past weekend and you can check out what they had to say about horror movies, Malcolm McDowell, Game Of Thrones and The Great Gatsby below.
How did the filmmakers pitch the story to you?
Kh: I met Michael (Bassett) years ago now when we first started it, and he was – he kind of pitched it. At first I thought he was very enthusiastic about it, about the whole project, and had to explain it to me quite a lot because it’s a quite complex story. But once you saw the kind of enthusiasm he had for it, he sort of sold it by himself.
