Altana tis pargas, I is a TV-series about the Greek revolution of 1821 against the Turks.The TV-series shows the truth about the cruelties of Turks and how much the Greeks suffered for four hundred years.From 1453 until 1821.Dimitris Papamichael gives a great performance as the Turk Ali-passas.Alexandra Ladikou is also great as Altana.Geli Gavriil on of the most beautiful Greek actress is in her only good role in her poor career.Efi Mouriki, Anna Kouri are good as always.I wonder where are two others stars of this TV-series.The gorgeous Maria Tsakalidou and Mania Tehritzoglou (they both played in Lampsi but after that?).The direction and the script of Costas Asimakopoulos are great!The song in the opening titles which sings Glikeria bis excellent.

Although I have not seen the movie I was curious as to where they got the name Altana for the movie title, reason being it is my first name and i have never seen that name anywhere besides my Great great grandmother and myself? So if you could please explain to me where they got it I would really appreciate it. I also would like to know if it a male or female character name in the movie or is it just the title name? My father was very surprised to see it also and was just as curious as I was about how this came about. So although this is not a comment about the movie maybe someone would be so kind as to cure our curiosity. If not maybe you could email a link to the correct person who could. Thank you
