I just saw the movie on 3sat and it surprised me positively.
Ben, an ex tennis star was forced to quit playing because of a knee injury. Together with his tennis career he breaks up with his wife and their seven year old son.
Having not seen the first ten minutes I reckon that Ben has an one night stand with Linda after which she leaves him without any further contact. In the aftermath she suffers a mental drop-out while he tries to find her. Being released from the psychiatry she moves house - like always, to start all over again. This doesn't make it easier for him. Finally he manages to find her and they fall in love. Everything seems to work out until she sustains a backslide. Since she has not told him exactly, what kind of illness she suffers on, Ben gets confused as he finds out about her suffering. He concludes that he has to ponder between his mentally ill girlfriend and his son. Finally - what a surprise they come together again. She tries a new therapy which seems to work out at the beginning and solve their problems...
I liked the playing of the main characters Ben and Linda very much. The story itself is nothing new. But the German version is to be recommended.I didn't like the "exaggerated trips" shortly before her out-freaking. They overdid it in that respect, for me there was no need to get an badly made insight view of Linda's perception. It really doesn't fit in.
Sad enough it's a TV flick and cannot be purchased on DVD.
