Kirk Douglas was 87 years old during production, making him one of the oldest leading actors in film.
Goorjian started out with practically no script. First, he shot the "teenage" film, then went to the goth film, and finally the ending. He then approached Kirk Douglas to offer him a role in the movie.
Michael Goorjian spent about six and a half years of his life working on this film.
