A Nova Estrela

This experimental short film could be considered as a music video made way before they become a trend and change the way we consume music beyond just listening. "A Nova Estrela" ("The New Star") is a composition by Wagner Tiso along with the group Som Imaginário. A very positive lyrics, quite inspirational yet somehow it bothered the military regime and the video was censored for several years and just recently it resurfaced on the internet and on cable TV, available with a lousy quality of image. Before this ressurection it was shown at the Berlin Film Festival and that's it.

A rare project starring several famous musicians of the period and some actors, an interesting song playing as a background sound and as action everyone keeps walking around a beach, having a delightful time in each other's company. That's it and there isn't much going on. Worthy of praise for surviving the test of time and surviving the dumb censorship established by Medici administration. But I failed to understand why a music that brings good feelings and it's not attacking or protesting the government was dangerous to the system. Go figure... 6/10.
