Was originally slated to premiere in November of 1998 before being pushed to May of 1999.
Winnie Woodpecker becomes a prominent character in this series. In the original theatrical cartoons, Winnie Woodpecker only appeared in one cartoon, Real Gone Woody (1954)
In this cartoon series, Winnie Woodpecker was redesigned to look almost exactly like Woody did from 1950 until 1972, the obvious differences being that she was a female woodpecker, wears a skirt, and has blue eyes.
Woody's design on this show is like his 1944-1949 design which was last used in Drooler's Delight (1949). This design is what Universal started using on merchandise after retiring the 1950's design in 1997.
It was created by well-known animator Bob Jaques. Jaques directed the first 13 episodes alongside Alan Zaslove, until the 14th episode, where Zaslove becomes the sole director until the end of the series.
