It’s now been over 50 years ago that Goldie Hawn won her first Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for “Cactus Flower” (1969). One of the most successful comic actresses for decades, Hawn has been a staple on the awards scene, earning a second Oscar nomination (Best Actress for “Private Benjamin”) and a total of eight Golden Globe nods, plus one win (“Cactus Flower”). Let’s take a look back at 10 of her greatest films, ranked worst to best.

We also get to see what happens to the Solar Opposites in the aftermath of the series-changing finale when the full fifth season of the series drops this August.

If you’re like me, you spend a lot of August yelling “Summer is over!” to your nearest and dearest — and they don’t take kindly to that. Summer TV is in its twilight, while fall premieres loom on the horizon after the Emmy Awards on September 15.
But summer is not over, and there’s plenty of new titles to stream in the Disney bundle. Disney+ will premiere new Star Wars and “Winnie the Pooh” titles for kids, as well as the original series “Are You Sure?!” following BTS’s Jimin and Jung Kook. Hulu will become home to “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” “The Woman King,” “Smile,” and more movie titles, as well as the home for FX series — this month: “The New York Times Presents: Lie to Fly: Documentary Premiere.” Hulu originals “Solar Opposites” returns on August 12, and “Reasonable Doubt” for its second season starting August...

Eva Amurri, the actress and lifestyle blogger daughter of Susan Sarandon and director Franco Amurri, married chef Ian Hock on Saturday.
Amurri, who runs the lifestyle company Happily Eva After, and Hock were married at Windrift Hall in New York’s Hudson Valley, according to People, which first reported the news, with Amurri sharing People‘s report via her official Instagram account.
Sarandon and former partner Tim Robbins both attended the ceremony as did Amurri’s three children with ex-husband Kyle Martino, to whom she was married for eight years before they split in November 2019.
“We really wanted to center our little family unit in all of it, and make it as much about the kids as it was about us,” Amurri told People. “We worked with our officiant to craft a ceremony that felt super personal and intimate, and then focused on our second love of life: food! All...

Goldie Hawn has been a star for more than 50 years. She got her start dancing and giggling, often in a bikini, on "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In," a seminal TV comedy series of the late 1960s. She left the show to focus on her film career. At first, her film roles were pretty similar to the free spirit/dumb blonde act she did on "Laugh-In," but her potential as a comedic actor shone through, and by the 1980s, she was leading movies herself. After starring in some classics of the '80s and '90s, she left acting behind in the early 2000s, focusing on her family, writing her autobiography, and running the Hawn Foundation, a nonprofit that helps disadvantaged kids perform better in school.
After a 15-year hiatus from the big screen, Goldie Hawn returned to star with Amy Schumer in the comedy "Snatched." Since then, she's appeared alongside her real-life partner,...

Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep have a lot in common. Both are pop culture icons as well as respected actors – and both have appeared in many hit movies over the years. The two women have also worked together. Their roles in the 1992 black comedy Death Becomes Her made Hawn and Streep cult figures, and to this day, fans look upon the film with fondness.
Hawn and Streep have also remained close over the years, even if they haven’t worked together in another major movie. In a recent interview with Variety, Hawn opened up about her relationship with Streep, revealing that the Oscar winner is a “great girlfriend.”

Christensen joins previously announced series lead Ramón Rodríguez in the drama pilot, which is based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling “Will Trent” novel series.

March 2022 is a great month for blonde women with cold, dead stares on Hulu.
With its list of new releases for March 2022, Hulu is highlighting two major original series ripped straight from the headlines. The first is The Dropout, which premieres on March 3. This show stars Amanda Seyfried (taking over from the previously cast Kate McKinnon) as Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. This story about high-level corporate fraud is truly wild, enough so to accommodate several books, podcasts, and even an upcoming film starring Jennifer Lawrence. Hulu is certainly hoping its version is the definitive one.

Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer are a patience-testing mother and daughter abducted in Ecuador
The plot is simple: two white women (Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer, our wacky mother-daughter duo) go on a package holiday to Ecuador, where they are snatched (get it?) by a band of brown-skinned thugs. They end up marooned on the Amazon. It’s a “comedy”. Hawn, who hasn’t appeared in a movie since 2002’s The Banger Sisters, came back for this?
“We’re gonna put the fun in non-refundable!” Schumer’s Emily insists. Sadly, there’s very little fun to be found. For a film that tries to assert its girl-power position by way of endless, increasingly crude jokes, it comes down surprisingly hard on its female characters’ bodies and sex lives. Emily’s American ignorance is acknowledged and excused; she’s “never voted” and doesn’t “speak Spanish”. At least she’s not racist,...

A dim-witted offering released in time for Mother’s Day, Snatched — directed by Jonathan Levine from a script by Katie Dippold — is a low-energy action comedy without much laughter. (You know you’re in trouble when a frequent joke involves misunderstanding “come” for “cum.”) Much of the humor falls painfully flat as Amy Schumer does her usual shtick as Emily, a woman with deep insecurities who enjoys a party or two. Goldie Hawn, who has been absent from the silver screen since 2002’s The Banger Sisters, plays her cat-loving mom Linda. She lives with her mentally challenged son Jeffrey (Ike Barinholtz), a shut-in who makes a living teaching piano lessons. When Emily breaks up with musician boyfriend, she’s stuck with a non-refundable trip to a resort in Ecuador and convinces the adventure-adverse Linda to “come” with her. She mistakes a “welcome” drink given by porters in the hotel lobby with “whale cum,...

Thank goodness for Snatched, the vehicle by which Goldie Hawn returned to our movie screens after 15 long, Goldie Hawn-less years. (Her last movie was The Banger Sisters in 2002, if you can believe it.) I'm stating this up top so that if you take one thing from this review, let it be: Goldie Hawn is back, and boy, is it good to see her.
Snatched, as the title card that opens the movie so-seriously informs, is "a reckless tale" of murder and mayhem. Oh yeah, it adds, "The kidnappers did bad things too." Backtracking, we meet Emily (Amy Schumer), a floundering 30-something who is fired from her job and subsequently dumped by her boyfriend, the latter proving particularly inconvenient since she's booked a nonrefundable trip to Ecuador for two. Pressed, Emily coerces her mother, Linda Middleton (Hawn), a sad helicopter mom who used to love adventure but now loves Grey's Anatomy and Facebook fake news, to put the...

There have been complaints in early reviews about Snatched being disposable junk. Huh? Let's back up a minute. The comedy stars Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer as mom and daughter – those words alone should mean something for film enthusiasts, and not just because Mother's Day weekend. Schumer, the baby-faced bad girl of 2.0 comedy, is teaming up with Hawn, a laugh-inducing golden girl since she won an Oscar for her breakthrough role in 1969's Cactus Flower. So, yes, we'll allow that this female raunch-com is built on a script by Katie Dippold (The Heat,...

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will follow the Marvel rule: Every May Marvel release has held on to the top spot for a second weekend .
The sequel will likely gross as much as the two new wide studio releases combined, with a predicted $60 million. Two new movies will battle for second place: Warner Bros.’ pricey $175 million “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” and “Snatched,” an R-rated Amy Schumer/Goldie Hawn Fox comedy timed for Mother’s Day.
After several weeks of lagging grosses, despite some big performers “Guardians” and “The Fate of the Furious,” this weekend could reach parity with last year. While the second weekend of the current Marvel film will fall short of “Captain America: Civil War” in 2016, the two new openers should easily outpace the new releases last year which added up to $20 million.

It may just be an early-summer action comedy, but the stakes feel oddly high for Snatched. Will star Amy Schumer re-create her Trainwreck magic? Are co-star Goldie Hawn’s screwball chops still intact after a 15-year absence from the big screen? (Remember her last film, The Banger Sisters? Didn’t think so.) Does writer Katie Dippold’s screenplay have more bite than her ineffectual Ghostbusters reboot? And, of course, the eternal, ad nauseum, haven’t-we-settled-this-already question: Can a female-driven movie deliver at the box office?
That's a lot of anticipation to bog down any film — let alone something as featherweight as Snatched, a fitfully...

Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson are still learning about each other.
The mother-daughter pair sat down for a conversation for Interview's May issue, where Hudson asked all the important questions.
"Now, let's begin with your relationship with your children: who's your favorite?" Hudson jokingly begins the interview, before quizzing her mom on more serious aspects of her career, like why she started seeing a therapist after making it big as an actress.
"What I wanted in life was happiness, to be honest, and in my young life, I always read about how screwed up Hollywood was. I just wanted to be normal. I wanted to have a normal life. I wanted to have children," Hawn explains. "And when I was picked out of a chorus line and cast in a TV series, I got anxious...

Hollywood hasn't always been kind to its leading ladies. Goldie Hawn returns to the silver screen May 12, starring opposite Amy Schumer in Snatched. The mother-daughter comedy marks the actress' first film role since 2002's The Banger Sisters. Back in the day, Hawn could do no wrong at the box office; Private Benjamin, Overboard and The First Wives Club were major, career-defining hits. But when Hawn was pitched to star in Snatched, the studio initially balked. "They didn't want me in the beginning," Hawn says with a shrug in Entertainment Weekly's Apr. 21 issue. But Schumer wouldn't accept any substitutes: "I said, 'Over my dead body Goldie is not going to be in this...

The last time we saw Goldie Hawn in a movie was in 2002's The Banger Sisters. Well, that is until now...Thanks to Amy Schumer. The comedienne paired up with the actress for their upcoming action-comedy Snatched, which is set to hit theaters in May. So how did Schumer get the iconic star back on the silver screen?! "Drugs and money," the 35-year-old joked with E! News' Marc Malkin at the CinemaCon Awards, where Hawn was honored with the Icon Award. On a serious note, though, Schumer says it took persistence. "I honestly kept approaching her when I would see her, and I was like, 'I have a movie I'd like you to be in,'" she said with a naggy tone....

It’s always nice to see a Mother and Daughter combo doing some serious bonding but Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn take it to the next level in the new trailer for Snatched. In this new film the pair give their kidnappers a run for their money while on an exotic holiday.

Snatched marks Hawn’s first role since 2002’s The Banger Sisters and this new film features an odd couple who have only their comedic roles in common. Goldie Hawn is back! The beloved comedienne hasn’t hit the big screen since 2002’s “The Banger Sisters,” but she’a finally returning to the multiplex with the comedy “Snatched,” co-starring none other than Amy Schumer as her hapless daughter. The film follows the duo as they embark on what looks to be the trip from hell, with a big twist.
Schumer stars in the feature as Emily, an unlucky-in-love singleton who, after being brutally dumped by her boyfriend on the eve of a long-planned trip to South America, cooks up the idea to take her mom instead. Hawn’s mama character is uptight, adverse to change and terrified of the sun. Surely these two will have a wonderful time on their tropical vacation.

Amy Schumer is as persuasive as she is persistent. The Emmy-winning actress is currently on location in Hawaii filming adventure-comedy with none other than Goldie Hawn—an actress who hadn't made a movie since 2002's The Banger Sisters. So, how did she convince Hawn to return to the big screen after taking a 15-year hiatus? "I met her on an airplane a couple of years ago and told her there's a movie I really want to make with her. And she was very nice. 'Ok, honey.' She probably thought I was a psycho. 'Ok, crazy person,'" Schumer recalled in a Q&A with The Los Angeles Times, published Wednesday. Goldie Hawn hasn’t appeared in a film since 2002’s “The Banger Sisters,” an extended hiatus that’s coming to an end next year. “Ghostbusters” scribe Katie Dippold is writing the untitled adventure comedy (often referred to as “Mother/Daughter,” though the title doesn’t appear to be official) along with Kim Caramele and Amy Schumer, who’s set to appear as one half of the semi-eponymous duo with Hawn.

Susan Sarandon has long had a comic side, and not just because she hammed it up in Rocky Horror and fired off one-liners in Thelma and Louise. The Oscar-winning actress exudes brassiness, and occasionally she picks movies like The Banger Sisters and Tammy that highlight her quirks. (Don't forget her saucy, truly underrated voice work in James and the Giant Peach as Miss Spider.) Now she's playing the most intrusive yet believable mom in the new comedy The Meddler and it's a perfect fit. Writer/director Lorene Scafaria previously handled Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Her knack for wry, self-possessed characters suits not only Sarandon but also her costar Rose Byrne, who provided the biggest laughs in Neighbors and possibly Spy too. Jk Simmons seems like he's resuming the drollness of his character in Juno here, and I'm ready for that renaissance.

When news emerged last summer that Amy Schumer's first post-Trainwreck project would be a mother-daughter kidnapping comedy, one question loomed above all others: Who in the world should play Amy Schumer's mom? Now we've got our answer: It might be Goldie Hawn! The news was originally reported by Vulture's Kyle Buchanan, and then confirmed by the Wrap. The untitled comedy would mark Hawn's return to the screen after a 14-year absence. (Her last film was 2002's The Banger Sisters, which now won't even have the pleasure of being a trivia answer.) Of course, this news means that, in the Amy Schumer Cinematic Universe, Goldie Hawn once hooked up with Colin Quinn. Congratulations, Colin Quinn!

Forecast Update: Making a breathtakingly bad $2,829 per screen, Fox's Fantastic Four made $11.3M on Friday (with Thursday screenings added). Unless the wheels fall completely off the vehicle that should put Fantastic on the road to a $27M weekend. The only consolation at this point is international (reports still to come in) and that the reboot did better than Pixels ($24M its opening weekend). That also opens the door, wide, for Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation to come in first place. The Gift is doing better than expected, making $4.12M in Friday totals (with only $585K of that from Thursday), placing it in the $10M range. That's better than The Box (which, for some reason, is the first movie we think of in association with this) which made $7.5M in 2009 ($8M adjusted to 2015 prices). Ricki and the Flash made $2.2M and looks to finish the weekend with $7.2M. That's half of the take of Hope Springs,...

Goldie Hawn charmed audiences for decades with roles in Private Benjamin, Overboard and The First Wives Club. And yet, in 2002, the actress decided to take an indefinite hiatus from moviemaking. Perhaps the 68-year-old Oscar winner is ready to return to Tinseltown. Hawn recently moved from Wme to CAA, leading many insiders to believe that she's angling to get back on the big screen.
