To celebrate the tenth anniversary of his online horror anthology Split Lip, Sam Costello has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a hardcover collection featuring 13 of the best and creepiest Split Lip stories. We also have images and details on Funko’s third wave of Sdcc 2016 exclusives—including a Doctor Strange Pop! vinyl figure—as well as preview pages from Dark Horse’s trade paperback release of the comic book series Living with the Dead.
Split Lip Kickstarter: From Kickstarter: “Split Lip is an anthology of self-contained horror comics written by Sam Costello and drawn by artists from all over the world. It is often compared to The Twilight Zone and Night Gallery. Influences include writers like Shirley Jackson and Clive Barker, comics creators like Junji Ito and Emily Carroll, ghost stories, folk tales and murder ballads.
Calling Split Lip horror is easiest, but it’s more accurate to call it weird fiction.

.This is the project of a lifetime and I could not be more excited to be part of it,. said Gyllenhaal. .Everyone knows how this story ends, but the true stories told through the eyes of this extraordinary band of brothers, from JFK.s election to that awful day in Dallas, have never been told. It is time to share their perspective with the world..

Married With Zombies
Book 1: Living with the Dead
By Jesse Petersen
Paperback
Orbit Books
Release date: September 2010
Married With Zombies is the first book in Jesse Petersen’s three-book series entitled Living with the Dead in which we follow a twenty-something year old married couple, Sarah and David, as they work through their ample relationship issues while they slay their way across the U.S.A. in the hopes of finding loved ones alive and not undead during the sudden zombie apocalypse. Told with sarcasm and frustrated humor from Sarah’s point of view, Petersen paints a realistic portrait of marriage in the age of handheld video games and the wives who compete with them for their husbands’ attention. The zombies are almost beside the point right away as I wondered whether these two would kill each other first [...]...

Graphic novel The Secret is being adapted for the big screen by Universal and producer Scott Stuber. But this is no superhero movie: it's a teen-horror-thriller with a set up that's more slasher movie than supermen-in-tights.The plot sees normal teen Tommy Morris invited to party with the coolest kids at Franklin High School, a group that includes girl-of-his-dreams Pam. But following a prank phone call, and the strange appearance of a faceless man, Pam soon disappears and Tommy is the only suspect. The book was written by Mike Richardson, founder of Dark Horse Comics and a creator of The Mask and comics like Living With The Dead and Cut as well as this one (which Jason Shawn Alexander illustrated). Scott Milam, who's currently got scripts Bedlam and Wichita in development, and was recently hired to write the Mother's Day remake, will adapt the story for the screen. Is this...

This trade paperback collects the three-issue mini series published by Dark Horse Comics. Living With The Dead is kind of like Shaun Of The Dead meets a Bob Hope & Bing Crosby Road picture, and if that reference seems dated then sue me for being an old fart. Essentially the story is a buddy picture about a couple of guys surviving as best they can amidst a zombie virus outbreak to which they are seemingly immune. Straw is named after the term given to Ex-Yankees Slugger, Reggie Jackson, who was often referred to as the straw that stirs the drink in New York. Whip—well, he can’t seem to remember how he got his name. The aspiring actor and chef is clearly not the brains of the duo, but he means well.
The pair has found a clever way...

'Home Edition' powers ABC to demo win
Repeats of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition were enough to win the night for ABC in the adults 18-49 demographic on Sunday, but the network still found it hard to populate its new 9 p.m. series My Kind of Town. ABC's 8 p.m. repeat of Home Edition was the night's top-rated show in adults 18-49 with an average of 3.1 rating/9 share and 7.6 million viewers. The second episode of Town slipped at 9 p.m. to 5.8 million viewers and 2.2/6 in the demo. CBS' 60 Minutes (10.2 million, 1.8/6) ranked as the most-watched program of the night and was the only show on a rerun-laden night to crack the 10 million-viewer mark. The eye network also did respectable business from 9-11 p.m. with its repeat of the 2002 miniseries Living with the Dead (8.4 million, 2.0/6). NBC's highest marks came with the 9 p.m. rerun of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (8.8 million, 2.6/7). Fox was wall-to-wall repeats, led by the 9 p.m. encore of Family Guy (5.8 million, 2.7/8). For the night, CBS led in viewers (8.7 million); ABC pushed past Fox for bragging rights in adults 18-49 (ABC's 2.4/7 to Fox's 2.2/7).
