Kudrat review :
Directed by Raj (Daddu) Sippy, the film failed on the casting front itself as Urmila looked quite "senior" in front of the young Akshaye Khanna. The 'behen ki takki' song was changed to 'chiddi ki dukki' by the censor board. The plastic surgery angle was already explored in recently released Vishwavidhaata (1997). All the factors contributed to the films dismal performance at the box office.

The acting was superb in this movie and the storyline was also quite enthralling, that is, up until you are introduced to the second half of the film. It is completely unbelievable!! It's almost as if you are watching a completely different movie. But if you let that go, the film is not too bad and is a cheesy Bollywood flick that you can watch on a rainy day when there's not much to do. Akshaye Khanna and Urmila Matondkar make an adorable pair and the songs are cheesy, yet very likable. And as all other Bollywood movies, you will find a "happily-ever-after" ending that kind of makes you realize how much more unrealistic the movie is. If you want to watch this film, please try not to think while viewing it, otherwise you'll just make yourself go crazy. All-in-all a decent Bollywood movie.
