Composer Riccardo Cocciante was convicted of tax fraud by a Paris court on March 20, 2006 and given a ten-month jail term plus a fine of 37500 euros. He and his wife Catherine were found guilty of concealing profits from this hit musical, believed to be in the region of six million euros ($7.3 million/GBP4.3 million). They would have had to pay 2.8 million euros in taxes. He was not in court for sentencing, and his wife said they intend to appeal. On January 25, 2007 The Court of Appeal of Paris condemned Cocciante and his wife three years of imprisonment for tax evasion, a fine of 37500 euros each, and both were deprived of their civic, civil and family rights over a period up to five years.
Quasimodo's "Dieu Que Le Monde Est Injuste" was included in Garou's second album "Seul...Avec Vous". Garou played Quasimodo from 1998 to 2000.
