Absolutely disastrous
I totally agree with previous comment on this movie. As much as I rolled myself on the floor in laughter while enjoying the original series, as much I was appalled by the French "version". What a pity for the French who are so delicate in their own art of comedy, so funny and so much inspired and God knows how much the rest of the world already appreciate ! What got hold of this bunch I just cannot imagine... and how could two major actresses commit themselves into this failure is mystery to me. Well, well, they managed to turn something totally hilarious into the worst kind of vulgarity I have ever seen on screen. At least it should teach one a good lesson : do not imitate other's fantasies if you are too lazy or too dim at the joyful art of comedy. Please do something else but do not spoil our pleasure. Thanks in advance.
This movie is a shame.
I only went to see this movie because I had the feeling it would suck. And I was right, the gags are really lame, and Josiane Balasko as Edina is awful. The original tv series was actually great, but this is a terrible movie, really really awful.
Here's a tip, don't go see this movie.

Yeck...
I loved the tv show, and didn't feel like to go and check this one - but since I wasn't paying (that's a long story). Well still, I really was furious with that lousy piece of painful comedy. It's not funny, it's pathetic, sinister, and boy what a bore. That's it.

Don't expect exactly the same, you'll enjoy.
Once you've accepted that you're not going to watch an episode of _Absolutely Fabulous_, you will enjoy this film. The two actresses are hilarious and the spirit and the decadence of the series is totally present. This film is very entertaining: I wasn't bored for one second!
Hilarious!!
This is one of the breathtakingly funniest, hilarious movies I've ever seen. Both Nathalie Baye and Josiane Balasko are great, their act never fails to induce laughter; the situations are unique and fresh. It is hard to say which episode I liked most, since they are all equally good. Seldom do you find a movie in which humor is spread so evenly throughout the whole script. There is only one thing this movie leaves to be desired: it should be more widely marketed and promoted world-wide. If you have a chance, do not hesitate to rent and watch it - you won't regret it, unless, of course there is something terribly wrong with your sense of humor!
Witty and funny
This is a French remake of the fabulous eponymous British TV series. The adaptation is successful as the director and the cast never betray the spirit of the TV hit. Aghion, the director, has chosen gags from various episodes and has gathered them together in a coherent screenplay. It looks an extended version of an episode of the series. It doesn't bring anything new for the fans of ab fab. With this movie adaptation, the director's aim is to reach a wider audience (we have to keep in mind that the British series is cult in France, but not really famous). Fortunately, the film is as trash as on TV, and therefore really funny. Balasko and Baye perfectly embody the 2 demented alcoholic fashion victims and as far as I am concerned, I kept laughing from the beginning till the end. Not fabulous, but close to.

Awful
As a big fan of the original series, I was quite pleased when I heard that there was a movie about Edwina and Patsy. Well, the truth is: that movie really sucks! It's poorly written, and Jennifer Saunders IS Edwina, there's no one who could ever fill her shoes...
The only thing that worth a look is that guy, Jonathan... damn, the boy is cute! :)

Undigestable Trollop
The film is a remake in the French Language of an English Comedy series called Absolutely Fabulous. You cannot translate the humour of the original series into another language and to even envisage it was a total and utter waste of time. Imagine translating "Fawlty Towers" into French, God Forbid ! It's no more possible than translatine Amélie Poulain or Louis de Funès into English ! I cannot see any sane person in the world appreciating one iota of this film. It was a total bore from beginning to end and should never have been made. I have seen both actresses in other films where they were superb, but they must have been really hard up for money if they were willing to make a piece of crap like this !
