Renowned Mexican songwriting team Manuel Esperón (composer) and Ernesto Cortázar (lyricist), along with screenwriter and director Joaquín Pardavé (a notable songwriter himself), wrote six songs specially for this film: "Primero soy mexicano", "Desde que te conocí", "Torrentera", "Ya tengo yo mi querer", "El que se fue a la villa", and "Cueste lo que cueste".
Luis Aguilar, Flor Silvestre, and Francisco Avitia were reunited in the film El tigre enmascarado (1951).
First onscreen pairing of Luis Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, who became a popular film couple throughout the 1950s and early 1960s. They made eleven more films.
Flor Silvestre's first starring performance. She made her film debut as a singer in Te besaré en la boca (1950), but this is the first film in which she plays a leading role.
