Rajesh Khanna's daughter, Baby Twinkle Khanna sounded the clapper board, Mrs. Yash Chopra directed the first shot, Mrs. Mohan Kumar broke the coconut and Mrs. J. Om Prakash switched on the camera. The reason for an "all ladies" show was attributed to the fact that since the film is full of ladies appeal, it was the right to start the film that way.

Alag Alag was produced by Rajesh Khanna & directed by his favorite director Shakthi Shamantha. It featured Shashi Kapoor in a guest role & Tina Munium as the heroine.

It came in 1985 when Kaka's 2nd innings was going great guns. The music became a big hit before release & got the platinum disc.

Kishore kumar sang all the songs in this film for free for Kaka as a gratitude since it was with "Aradhana" that he attained huge success.

Kaka wanted Sanjeev kumar to play the role of Tina's uncle in the film, but Sanjeev refused & the role went to Shashi.

Shashi Kapoor gives a very natural performance in a brief role. Rajesh Khanna & Tina Munium have a great chemistry & this is reflected in their performances.

However, the scene stealer is R.D Burman who tuned in magnificent songs.

The film met with only average success at the box office.
