This was a very good sketch show with outstanding acting and production values. Not quite in the same league as "Alas Smith and Jones", but certainly in the same league as "The Late Show". Many laugh-out-loud funny sketches. What really stood out was the originality of the sketches' premises, like the scowling guy who turns up with a broken toaster on the doorstep of the man who had given it as a wedding present 12 years earlier, demanding that it be fixed. I wonder if this program fell foul of internal ABC politics, as it was buried late on Saturday night in a varying time slot with minimal publicity, and I haven't seen any repeats. If this program was instead a sympathetic but unfunny sitcom about a family of Muslim asylum swindlers, you can bet the ABC would have kept it running for five seasons even if (or rather, ESPECIALLY if) there were no viewers.
