On the pause menu, if you push Square, Square, Circle, Circle, Square, Square, Circle, Circle, you'll be taken to a hidden dialogue test, which allows you to listen to any character's dialogue. When you play it, the dialogue will infinitely loop over the music. If you access the Dialogue Test in Evening Lake, there will be 2 unused dialogue strings of the Professor.
In Midnight Mountain, there is a large island off in the distance that can't be accessed through normal gameplay, that has 3 extra lives on it. This island originally was going to have the Super Bonus Round portal on it, and according to Senior Artist Craig Stitt, there was a very tall whirlwind that would take you up to it after defeating the Sorceress in the final battle, but the whirlwind was removed, and the portal was moved much closer. They accidentally left the lives behind, though.
This is the last Spyro game to be created by Insomniac games.
The Skateboard that Spyro uses has Ripto, the villain in the game's predecessor, on the back.
According to the Chinese zodiac, the year 2000 is the year of the dragon, the same year this game was released.
