Must-see fare for fans of the bosomy camp horror queen.

Peterson and her longtime writing partner, John Paragon, as well as director Sam Irvin, clearly worship the Poe-inspired Roger Corman/Vincent Price films of the 1960s, so of course there’s a pit and a pendulum in that dungeon, but who’d have expected it to be so beautifully designed?

Don't go to this movie looking to be actually scared, but as a gothic romp it's surprisingly effective.

Elvira fans could hardly ask for more.

It's so cheerfully cheesy, you can't help but be amused.

At 52, Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) still looks a treat and, more important, effortlessly wields her double entendres like a Romanian Mae West.

She's like Bob Hope with fake breasts and a wig. Now, that's scary.
