Quotes

  • [after learning about Jim Hensen's death, Fozzie has tearfully decided to cancel the final production number for the tribute to Jim Hensen - deeming the big musical comedy number as improper for the occasion, much to everyone's sadness. Robin, however, thinks otherwise]

Robin the Frog : [to Fozzie, kindly]  Kermit thought we could.

Fozzie Bear : [despairing]  Oh, but Robin, all we have is silly songs and whoopee cushions!

Robin the Frog : Well, maybe that's enough. That's what uncle Kermit says, "Take what ya got and fly with it!"

Fozzie Bear : Fly with it? Kermit says that?

Robin the Frog : I think he learned it from Jim. You know, this Jim Henson may be gone but, he's still here too... inside of us, Believing in us!

[Robin starts singing an emotional rendition of Just One Person, gradually joined by all the other muppets]

  • [the Muppets have just discovered of Jim Hensen's death after reading a fan letter and are all in shock]

    Fozzie Bear : Wha... Died?

The Great Gonzo : [devastated]  *Jim Died?* But... we were just starting to get to know him.

Scooter : [picks up a fan letter and reading it]  "Perhaps the substance of Jim Henson's genius was the ability to see wonder far-off in crazy directions, and get people to follow him there " - Roberta Miran. Dover Plains, New York

Clifford : [Clifford is handed another fan letter]  "Dear Kermit, I hope you feel better. I will miss Jim Henson, too. I hope this letter makes you feel better. I love you." - Bridget Curwin. Peabody, Massachusetts.

Miss Piggy : [reading a letter, while Statler and Wardorf listen, nodding in solemn agreement; very heartfelt]  "You know, Mr. Hensen was a very good and talented teacher... He will never be dead in my heart." - Elizabeth Nickela-Edelman. Mountain Lakes, New Jersey.

The Great Gonzo : [reading another letter; he is deeply moved]  "While falling asleep that night, our five-year-old daughter Blair said, 'It's a good thing there are people who can do Jim Henson's job. He'll be with us every time we watch the Muppets. He'll be able to see them from Heaven." - The Reeser Family... Las Vegas, Nevada.

Robin the Frog : [reading the final fan letter, which contains a child's drawing of a sad Kermit sitting under a rainbow]  "We will miss you Jim Hensen" - Matt.

[Robin heaves a sad sigh as the solemn occasion of Jim Hensen's passing sinks in on the muppets]
