The feel-good trailer for upcoming British production, Finding Your Feet starring Imelda Staunton, proves there is still life to be lived in your Golden Years.
Teaming up a cast of Imelda Staunton, Celia Imrie, Timothy Spall, Joanna Lumley, John Sessions, Josie Lawrence and David Hayman, director Richard Loncraine has brought together the cream of veteran wholesome comedy project that oozes grand old British values in Finding Your Feet.
The trailer focuses on the middle-class Sandra (Staunton) as she forces herself on her sister Bif (Imrie), who lives on a council estate, in an attempt to start her life over after she discovers her husband’s betrayal in having an affair with her best friend. Almost strangers as sisters, the pair are given the opportunity to get to know each other again via geriatric dance classes, dating and travel. It’s a tale of self-discovery and learning to...

He has unparalleled creative freedom within the BBC. But, as Stephen Poliakoff's latest lavish drama reaches our screens, what does he make of his reputation for being a control freak?
'I'm quite sure," Stephen Poliakoff giggles, "there are people within the BBC who run down the corridors blocking their ears when they see me coming." His reputation certainly precedes him – a great galloping colossus of media folklore, variously casting the writer as a genius, control freak, force of nature or diva, sometimes all at the same time. Descriptions of his appearance err towards cartoonish caricature – dishevelled, wild-haired, fidgety, like a mad professor who has accidentally electrocuted himself – only adding to the mythology of a wild man of letters. But to everyone about to fall in love with his latest drama, Poliakoff may well soon be at real risk of becoming a national treasure.

t looks like The Devil Inside opening in theaters on January 6, 2012 will take horror movie fans to a new level in the exoticism themed film. The clip below shows a woman that has been possessed by multiple demons, four to be exact. The demonic possession almost resembles multiple personality disorder. What the hell? The image shows a photo taken after an exorcism has been completed and it looks brutal. I hope this film turns out to be really good, that would be a great way to start off the New Year! The Devil Inside is directed by William Brent Bell (Stay Alive) and stars Fernanda Andrade (Fallen), Simon Quarterman (Perfect Strangers) and Evan Helmuth.

The Devil Inside is directed by William Brent Bell (Stay Alive) and stars Fernanda Andrade (Fallen), Simon Quarterman (Perfect Strangers) and Evan Helmuth. The Devil Inside wants to wish you a very scary Christmas! The Devil Inside has elements that remind me of The Last Exorcism and I can't wait to see this film. In fact I like exorcism type movies a lot , something about them really freaks me out. I'm sure it has something to do with the religious practices and rituals shown in these types of films.

A striking stage presence for more than 60 years and a familiar face on TV
Sheila Burrell, who has died aged 89 after a long illness, was a cousin of Laurence Olivier, and a similarly distinctive and fiery actor with a broad, open face, high cheekbones and expressive eyes. She stood at only 5ft 5ins but could fill the widest stage and hold the largest audience. Her voice was a mezzo marvel, kittenish or growling and, in later life, acquired the viscosity and vintage of an old ruby port, matured after years of experience.
In a career spanning more than 60 years, she made her name as a wild, red-headed Barbara Allen (subject of the famous ballad) in Peter Brook's 1949 production of Dark of the Moon (Ambassadors theatre), an American pot-boiler about the seduction of a lusty girl by a witch boy and the hysterical reaction of her local community.
The role remained one of her favourites,...

In 1989, ABC premiered the Perfect Strangers spin-off Family Matters, which featured a relatively unknown cast. Although the series focused on a middle-class African American family in Chicago, the breakout star was the Winslows' annoyingly dorky neighbor, Steve Urkel. Twenty years later, Jaleel White, who played Urkel, still looks back at the show that catapulted him into stardom with fond memories and says that, yes, people still ask him to do the famous "Urkel" voice. The 33-year-old spoke to TVGuide.com about his favorite memories from his nine seasons on the show, the first season of which is in stores on DVD Tuesday.
TVGuide.com: What was it like working on Family Matters?
Jaleel White: It was an amazing experience. I learned physical comedy to a degree that most child actors never will. I really just became a student of it — became obsessed with it to be quite honest. I...

Besides being the best-dressed guest editor PopWatch has ever had, geek goddess Olivia Munn has made her name as the host of G4′s Attack of the Show. That might be about to change: she made her debut last week as The Daily Show’s new Senior Asian Correspondent (to the great dismay of Aasif Mandvi, who also claims to be Asian). That’s on top of some other items in Munn’s busy schedule: starring in NBC’s new comedy Perfect Strangers, co-writing the new book Suck it, Wonder Woman!, and leading a PETA-assisted revolt against Barnum and Bailey.

We all have film sequences that stick in our minds. Some are shared by many – such as the shower scene from Psycho – others are particular to us. Here our film critic and a panel of leading movie-makers reveal their favourites. What are yours?
Who will ever forget the first time they saw the 45-second shower-room murder in Hitchcock's Psycho? I remember 1959 and 1961 as the years when my first two children were born. But the first thing that comes to mind about the year in between was seeing Psycho, which I'd been looking forward to since a radio programme I'd produced the previous October, when Hitchcock had enticingly described Psycho as "my first real horror film". Entering the Plaza, Lower Regent Street, the day the film opened, I passed the cardboard cut-out of Hitchcock in the foyer, from which a tape recording of the Master's familiar Leytonstone undertaker's voice warned us...

One of the great topics of TV discussion is the "which spinoffs are better than the original shows?" discussion. Are there actually TV show spinoffs that are better than the shows that spawned them?
Woman's Day named their ten picks. I agree that Knot's Landing is better than Dallas and NCIS is probably better than Jag. Not sure if I agree with Family Matters being a better show than Perfect Strangers. Frasier better than Cheers? Hmm, probably not. Also: is Family Feud really a spinoff of Match Game just because both starred Richard Dawson? I guess it could be, I've just never heard that piece of information before.
I'd pick The Andy Griffith Show (from The Danny Thomas Show). Of course, we could talk about this endlessly (though not as endlessly as we could talk about spinoffs that are worse than the show that spawned them). What are your picks?...

There is something to be said about the unifying power of sports. Perfect strangers chant in harmony and share in the excitement of competition, celebrating each win as a team and lamenting the losses as a unit. There is nothing quite like witnessing your team claim a deserved victory after a roller coaster ride of support spanning months, years, and sometimes decades.
It is this positive energy director Clint Eastwood hoped to harness in Invictus, a story of how the newly-elected Nelson Mandela believed in the cohesive capabilities of national sport and publicly cheered for the South African Springbok’s in the Rugby World Cup, against the recommendations of his advisers.
Aside from a nuanced performance by Morgan Freeman as Mandela and the solid turn by Matt Damon as team captain Francois Pienaar, the film is a banal, often dull, re-telling of select events. Eastwood glosses over the country’s...

For someone best known for Shooting the Past, a television drama apparently so slow and un-televisual that BBC executives begged him to speed it up, Stephen Poliakoff is a very fast talker. Sentences tumble into one another, thoughts jerkily digress, regroup and change their angle of attack. The High School Musical 3 soundtrack. Wow. How do I begin with this one? I remember a time when Disney made films that really didn’t patronize their audience. They were making films that the whole family could go see together. They had staying power. When they were re-released twenty or thirty years later, they still held up. I understand that “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” is meant for Middle School kids (because lets face it, if you’re in High School, would you watch this? Maybe you would, I don’t know) but that still doesn’t diminish the fact that these are some of the tritest, self centered, clichéd teen drivel songs ever to be sung by human beings.
I swear to God, (I’m beginning to question his existence after listening to this) every song could easily be the theme song to any 80’s/90’s sitcom. Actually,...
