It's a little hard for me to comment meaningfully on this Universal L-KO comedy. It's only the third I've seen, it's in chopped up shape and lead Harry Gribbon is not one of my favorite comedians. He was, by all reports, a very talented actor, but he always seemed to be two steps behind Vernon Dent, who himself rarely got a chance to shine -- but when he did, he took it.
This seems to consist of three parts, linked by Harry trying to remain engaged to Eva Novak while dastardly Billy Armstrong tries to get her and her aunt's strong box. In the first, Harry is the cook in the restaurant, running through the standard dirty-restaurant gags; in comes Oliver Hardy as a German and this being 1918, Harry puts paid to him by feeding him kerosene. In the second, Harry is painting the house while Billy sabotages him and in the third, they fight over the money box.
Given that L-KO's fortune was assured with Billy Ritchie comedies, a comedian looking for a reason to hurt you, it seems likely that they were cruder and ruder than Keystones. Given that and the poor shape of this one, I can't recommend it, but it does have Oliver Hardy in it.
