Leon's wife was married previously. This is a problem because her rich Aunt Jessie is coming to town and she thinks her niece is still married to husband #1. Aunt Jessie also is a firm believer in marriage and hates divorces....so the plan is for the niece to pretend she's still married to husband #1...and Leon will pretend to be their butler in order to keep his eye on them!
All sorts of rather predictable hijinks occur in this short....but the writing is better than I expected. And so it manages to be far better than I expected. I particularly liked the ending...which was clever and cute.
By the way, Leon Errol was from Australia and he usually hid this accent in films. Here, however, as the butler you get to hear him with his actual accent in a few scenes.
