While the fall season has changed a great deal in the streaming age, the months of September through December do feature a flood of both new and returning series across every platform.

It’s not hard to see how Ryan Murphy arrived at his premise for “Ahs” Season 7. To say that many Americans have been living out their own personal horror story isn’t an overstatement — not with border closings, hate speech, and potential treason all enabled by the White House — but the new season manages to undermine the left’s legitimate fears and amplify the right’s monstrous traits all in one frenzied mess of an allegory.

The first-ever North Fork TV Festival has announced it will take place on Saturday, August 20 in Greenport, New York. Presented alongside SeriesFest, the festival will highlight upcoming indie television projects and aim to elevate and draw attention to the innovative minds of television executives, directors, writers and actors from around the globe. The festival is open to the public.

“New York is the center of so much of what we watch on TV these days, and we want New York to be the area that celebrates the independent producers who are creating much of that content,” said festival founder Noah Doyle in an official statement. “Each year more and more independent TV pilots are finding their way into our homes and into our lives. The North Fork TV Festival aims to bring that independently produced content to the greater New York media market.

The American Film Institute announced today the films that will screen in the World Cinema, Breakthrough, Midnight, Shorts and Cinema’s Legacy programs at AFI Fest 2015 presented by Audi.

AFI Fest will take place November 5 – 12, 2015, in the heart of Hollywood. Screenings, Galas and events will be held at the historic Tcl Chinese Theatre, the Tcl Chinese 6 Theatres, Dolby Theatre, the Lloyd E. Rigler Theatre at the Egyptian, the El Capitan Theatre and The Hollywood Roosevelt.

World Cinema showcases the most acclaimed international films of the year; Breakthrough highlights true discoveries of the programming process; Midnight selections will grip audiences with terror; and Cinema’s Legacy highlights classic movies and films about cinema. The Drafthouse Films' doc "The Final Member" follows Sigurdur Hjartarson, the founding curator of the Icelandic Phallogical Museum as he embarks on a quest to find the final schlong for his extensive collection. After all, does a collection of penises really mean anything if you don't have a human subject?
