He’s a cha cha real smooth talker. He’s 22, tall and handsome with a beard, but not a scruffy hipster beard — more like a post-millennial, post-ironic traditional beard, which sets off features that are finely chiseled in a Middle American corporate way. He’s just out of college but has no idea what he wants to do. He’s a Zoomer spinning his wheels, part of a tradition of aimless rebel slackers that stretches back to “The Graduate.” He’s sincere but a bit smarmy, a “nice guy” who knows how to use his sincerity. He is, of course, good with the ladies, maybe a little too good, which is why he attracts the amorous attentions of a mother he meets at a bat mitzvah, played by Dakota Johnson. And he’s got problems, but they’re sort of white people problems. You could call them old-school indie-film problems.

Mad Men is ending, and while the show's opening credits are inseparable from RJD2's haunting theme, there was a time when that beat was known only as "A Beautiful Mine," by RJD2 and rapper Aceyalone.
Matthew Weiner originally wanted a Beck song to play as the show's opening theme, but the singer turned down every offer from the show's producers. Weiner was driving and listening to NPR one day when he heard "A Beautiful Mine" played as segue music between two stories and was immediately struck by it, though the version that ultimately was used was so different from...

Canadian-Irish actor Donal Logue ("The Tao of Steve") is certainly no stew. The seasoned actor has appeared in films like, Blade and Ghost Rider, as well televison shows, Sons of Anarchy and Vikings. His next venture is Fox's latest comic book-based television show, Gotham. He'll play Detective Harvey Bullock, a seasoned cop that helps mentor Jim Gordon as he rises through the ranks of the Gotham police department. Before you get too excited, just remember this show is going to feature a very young Bruce Wayne, who is many years away from becoming The Dark Knight. Will people tune in to a Gotham-oriented show minus the Batman? Maybe Donal can convince you. "It's interesting because people will say, 'What good is Gotham? A Gotham without Batman is stupid!,'" the actor acknowledged. "What's fascinating about Gotham is like, what happened in the 20 years before Batman was so effed up...

You know, at the very beginning I was a fan of Law & Order: Svu. It probably goes without saying that I’m not inclined to be a fan of anything after 40 or 50 seasons (or whatever this show is on), but beyond the general boredom of a show that has outlived its usefulness, Svu started going downhill after two seasons, and simply wasn’t the same show anymore.
Well, whatever, such is my humble anyway.
As if to specifically mess with me, the show is now forcing me to watch it again, as Donal Logue has been given a recurring role. Fresh off of three of the coolest shows, and roles, you’re going to run into (Copper, Vikings, and Sons of Anarchy), Logue will continue the role as acting commander of the Svu.
The show returns on the 30th, and the Grey’s Anatomy-esque fun continues as Mariska Hargitay‘s character…...

Update
When I originally got the tip from my source that Donal Logue got the offer, I made error and assumed it was for the Gordon part. I was wrong. My fault. I apologize. What Donal Logue actually got the offer was for Det. Harvey Bullock who is in his 40s and described as Gordon’s mentor in the pilot. Again, my apologies to the readers because sometimes, in the race to be first with a scoop, I didn’t bother to ask for which part which was pretty amateur and stupid on my part. As they say, assumption is the mother of all screwups as I just proved. Won’t happen again. So Donal Logue did in fact get an offer but for another part and not Gordon. Hope this clears things up.

Donal Logue, who was recently featured in an intense role in Sons of Anarchy, has been offered the role of Gordon in Gotham. Latino Review broke the news....below.
Donal Logue has been offered the lead part of Commissioner James Gordon in Fox’s upcoming Gotham TV show which has been ordered to series.
Gotham, from The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller, explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains who made Gotham City famous. In the pilot, Gordon is still a detective with the Gotham City Police Department and has yet to meet Batman.
Just yesterday, Fox Chairman Kevin Reilly announced the news that the show will indeed feature a young Bruce Wayne (give me a minute & I will bag this scoop too).
“The show will arc a young Bruce Wayne from a child (around 12) into the final episode of the series, when he will put on the cape.

The 10th Ashland Independent Film Festival wrapped Monday. At the awards show Sunday night, resident actor Donal Logue (The Tao of Steve) hosted the event. "Why do indie film?" he asked. "God only knows. It's a labor of love." He has seen many indie films lose their way halfway through as they try to reach wider audience, he said. Not the films at this festival, though. Under resident director Joanne Feinberg, the small eastern Oregon festival has been picking up steam, visitors and authority over the past three years. Based in the same bucolic boomer-friendly town as Ashland's venerable Shakespeare Festival (I saw excellent productions of Measure for Measure and Julius Caesar), the film fest offered strong selections of short and feature docs (I was ...

In troubling television news last week, the great Ken Marino ("The State," "Veronica Mars," The Ten, "Children's Hospital," "Party Down," my dreams) was cast as Rob Riggle's brother on the CBS pilot "Home Game." This rather broke my heart because CBS, let's face it, is sort of the least cool place you could hope to get a pilot. For every "How I Met Your Mother" there's a "Mike and Molly" (and a "Two and A Half Men" and a "Rules of Engagement" and a "Big Bang-let's just say, all the other comedies, okay?). It saddens me to think of Marino, a genuinely sharp comedic talent, filing down those edges to fit into the soft, bland, predictable formula of a CBS sitcom. Is it fair to judge a TV show before they've even begun filming? Nope. Am I doing it anyway? Yawrp. Let's take a moment of silence and reflect...

I’ve been a big fan of Donal Logue ever since I saw him in the The Tao of Steve, so when I got a chance to work him on Terriers, I was completely excited.
I’ve worked with a lot of actors who tend to dismiss the co-stars they’re working with but not Donal (or Rockmond Dunbar, who was also in the scene). He was seriously one of the nicest guys I’ve ever worked with. Funny, self-deprecating and open to doing what I felt was right for my character, it was one of the best working experiences I’ve had.
Terriers is easily one of my favorite shows on TV right now. The chemistry between Donal and Michael Raymond-James drives the show. From the very first episode, it feels like you’ve known these characters forever; like an old comfortable shoe who visits you every Wednesday night.

I want to love this. I really, really do. There's so much to love. Danny Trejo, who of late has become sort of the petrifyingly badass, tattooed mascot of the site (mostly due to our anticipation of Machete). I like Donal Logue. Well... I liked him in Blade and The Tao of Steve, anyway. It's even got Jason Mewes, who I know annoys the hell out of a lot of people, but who I still find kind of retardedly endearing.
And I know it's supposed to be sort of a Grindhouse-style crapfest. But it just doesn't look particularly good. Although I have to admit -- it's kind of a poorly done trailer, on par with that hideous Kevin Sorbo flick I posted a couple of days ago. So maybe the movie's got more promise than the trailer shows. Take a look:
Then again, maybe it's just wishful thinking. Plus,...

FX set to pin star on Logue for 'El Centro'
FX is developing a one-hour drama with Donal Logue attached to star as well as write and produce. The cable network has ordered a script for El Centro from Logue, who recently completed his run on the WB sitcom Grounded for Life, and brothers John and Rick Dahl (Red Rock West), who would executive produce. Logue would star as a sheriff in Mexicali, the desert region along the California-Mexico border. No director or studio is attached. Logue is making his feature directorial debut with Tennis, Anyone? an independent comedy about struggling actors at a celebrity tennis tournament that makes its debut this month at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo. Logue also has appeared in The Tao of Steve and ER. John Dahl directed Rounders, and Rick Dahl was an executive producer on Unforgettable. Logue and both Dahls are repped by CAA.
