The trailer for horror film Blood Fare has been released online after having its world premiere on the Big City Comics video wall at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

It's the fourth film from writer-director J.A. Steel following her horror shocker Denizen, supernatural thriller Salvation and action feature The Third Society.

Steel attended the premiere with cast members Gil Gerard (famous for his lead role in the TV series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century) and Savannah Ostler (Vengeance, Splattercontainer Scream Queen October 2010).

Also there was Jeff Kaufman, creator of the new graphic novel Terminal Alice, published by Big City Comics and centring on five female contract killers who find they each have a price on their head and must work together to find out who wants them dead. We’ve been following the progress of feemale action filmmaker J.A. Steel’s fourth film Blood Fare, a Civil War ghost story with a modern twist, starring Gil Gerard – aka TV’s Buck Rogers, for some time now and I’m glad to be able to bring you the latest poster for the film.

Blood Fare is the tale of Corporal Henry Trout (S. Edward Meek), who in 1861 fought valiantly in a forgotten skirmish after the first battle of Bull Run. 150 years later, he will come face-to-face with his descendants as the battle for blood continues on a haunted battlefield. Tyler (Brandi Lynn Anderson) and her brother, Chad (Adrian West), Henry’s fifth generation grandchildren, will challenge the very legend of Charon the Ferryman as the lines between the living and the dead become blurred.

Filming has wrapped on Blood Fare, a Civil War ghost story whose cast includes Gil Gerard, star of the classic sci-fi series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

Award-winning writer/director Ja Steel today announced she and co-producer Christian Koch had completed principal photography as the first set of official images from the production were released. The stills are featured below; the latest poster is above.

I have decided that I have some screws severely loose. I started my first feature film, "The Third Society" nearly 11 years ago. It took me almost 4 years to finish it. I told myself never again, but movies are like tattoos, some of us enjoy the pain. I've done two other features, "Salvation" and "Denizen" in the years following "The Third Society." I always tell myself "never again" and then I end up making yet another movie. A couple weeks ago I got a wild idea to use a Civil War re-enactment group in the telling of a modern day Civil War ghost story...and my 4th feature, "Blood Fare" was born.

Denizen, the third feature from action-oriented filmmaker J.A. Steel (The Third Society, Salvation), has completed post production. Starring Julie Lisandro (Cheerleader Massacre) and Glen Jensen (Fingerprints), Denizen is about a group of scientists, who have to stop a mysterious creature from attacking a small town.

Drawing on her experience in her first feature film, the action indie The Third Society, Steel brings back a tough motorcycle-riding main character in the form of Sierra Deacon. It is Deacon's team, consisting of the highly skilled scientists Dexter Maines (Ben Bayless) and Dallas Murphy (Jody Mullins), which has to support the locals, led by Callie Calhoun (Julie Lisandro), to save their town from the creature. After several deaths, a special Army Unit led by General Jernigan (Glen Jensen) is called in to contain the creature. Or if necessary, to destroy the town...

On the evening of 4 November 2009, Hrc Utah was proud to join TransAction and the Utah Pride Center for a Wine & Cheese Gathering for board and staff of allied organizations, such as Equality Utah. On November 21, 2009, “Denizen: Special Access J.A. Steel” will be honored by the Nevada Film Festival with a Silver Screen award in the Short Film Competition. The short was filmed during the post production of the “Denizen” feature, with director J.A. Steel and editor Wayne Rawley.

“Denizen” is the story of a group of scientists that must destroy a creature that is terrorizing a small town. The film stars Julie Corgill-Lisandro, Glen Jensen, Ben Bayless, Jody Mullins and introduces Dianne Sullivan in her first film role. “Special Access” gives a glimpse into the life of the first female action director who does...
