We taped this movie a number of years ago and watch it every year just before Christmas (usually on Christmas Eve) as a family. A simple story, but wonderfully told - with warm and endearing characters. Wahlgren and Sjöström tell the tale of a much-loved bear who is lost a few days before Christmas - and the little girl who owns him is inconsolable. The story is told from both the little girl's point of view, and also from the view of 'Noo Noo' the teddy bear.
Full of warm characters, the story relies on visuals as much as the dialogue, with some wonderful shots of a white, Swedish Christmas. The sub-plot of family reunion at Christmas is well handled, without being intrusive, and dovetails nicely into the main story.
Underplayed, like most Nordic movies, this still brings a lump to my throat at the very satisfying conclusion every time I watch it.
