The producers of Tortilla Heaven breached agreements with all union actors that worked on this film. Furthermore, the movie has been airing for years on multiple, mainstream streaming services - with advertisements, so someone is making money off of the movie/off of the actors' hard work, etc. Revenue the movie continues to generate is going somewhere - to someone. With multiple producers of the movie having law backgrounds, the entire operation/production seems to have been a premeditated, money-making exploitation game.

One of the Lesser Known Chicano Movies

Tortilla Heaven is a fun movie with interesting characters, a unique story, and a controversial subject. The plot might seem silly, but once you give it a chance you just might find an enjoyable film with a deeper message. I would recommend this to those interested in films that touch the subject of religion in a less serious manner.
