Normally NFB (National Film Board) shorts from Canada can be relied on to present something both thoughtful and quite creative within about ten minutes. Sad to say, that is not the case with this film.
Arioli was even given 20 minutes, and allowed to take on serious problems affecting the entire population of the planet. What a premise! But was a dismally disappointing presentation.
There are supposedly three alternative solutions to problems of income disparity, overpopulation and militaristic tensions. But I honestly didn't get the idea behind any of them, unless it was the rather quaint 'When you've got a lot of bread, share with those who don't.'
More time and thought was needed in script writing since, as to be expected, the animated graphics are first rate.
I just wish he'd had something clearer and stronger to say.
