This game had saved its company, Acclaim Studios, from bankruptcy. They would eventually go bankrupt after the release of Turok: Evolution.
There was originally going to be Brachiosaurus in the tree top levels but they were cut due to memory restraints, only 50 kb of data was required to include them.
Although the box-art clearly shows the character Joshua Fireseed, he doesn't appear in this game at all. He later became the main character in the sequel Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (1998). However, the Japanese box art and the 2015 re-release cover is more true to the main character's appearance.
