I remember this with great affection. It only ran for 5 out of the 6 episodes because it was considered politically sensitive at the time of a General Election. The reason being Rosco's espousal of the Welsh Nationalist cause. In my view it was a prototype for "Open All Hours". Kenneth Griffith ran a small shop with Rosco his nephew acting as assistant. Sound familiar? Uncle was married but his marriage was more of an unrequited love affair, and he was involved in the seamier side of local politics. This last bit was a divergence from the other series with Barker and Jason but in many ways it stands comparison, and much as I liked "Open All Hours" I thought this superior. I'd love to see it again especially the missing episode but I expect it is now unavailable in any form. Sad.
