Zeenat Aman had seen the stage adaptation of The Night Of January 16. After the play she went backstage to meet the actors and compliment them. Vivek Vaswani was there and he thought Zeenat would be perfect for the film if it were ever to be made. It took a while to convince Zeenat to do the film. But she finally agreed.
Juttla sampled the song "Dekh Ke Tumko" for his song "Dekha" for the album Angels, Aliens and Assasins.
