The 31-year-old pop star is bringing Glinda to life in the musical movies, the first of which premieres on November 22.

During an appearance on the Sentimental Men podcast, Ariana revealed when she first learned about the movie, her dramatic response to the possibility of auditioning and more.

She explained how she got prepared, what her first audition was like and if she was initially brought in to read for Elphaba or Glinda.

Ariana also shared how Kristin Chenoweth, who originated the role of Glinda on Broadway, responded when she found out that she was auditioning for the movie.

Universal Pictures has announced that Wicked tickets are on sale now! The studio has also released a new TV spot, which is the first promo that shows the highly anticipated singing in the film.

It was originally supposed to open on Nov. 27, the same day as Disney’s “Moana 2.” On its new release date, “Wicked” is smartly avoiding a box office battle royale against another movie musical that appeals to a similarly female demographic. Now, “Wicked” will get a jump on the Thanksgiving holiday, but it won’t be completely devoid of competition. Almost a month before she sets off on her North American Celebration tour, Madonna hit #1 on five Billboard charts with her new collaboration featuring the Weeknd and Playboi Carti, “Popular.”

Although the 64-year-old singer’s music career has been wildly successful for over 40 years, this is the first time the Queen of Pop has been on the Billboard pop charts in each decade.

Madonna has now had songs debut in the Billboard Top 100 in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and the 2020s.

Cher is the only other artist to achieve this feat. Her songs debuted from the 1960s to the 2000s.

“Popular,” written by the Weeknd, was released on June 2 and is the second single released to accompany the singer’s new HBO drama, The Idol.

During her attempt to reclaim her pop music throne, she’s guided by Tedros (Tesfaye), a Hollywood nightclub manager and self-help guru. Though the release calendar will change over the next two years, there’s currently only a Disney Animation placeholder on the docket during Thanksgiving of 2024. By comparison, Christmastime is stacked with “Avatar 3” (a sequel to the third-highest grossing movie in history), as well as “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.”

Jon M. Chu is directing “Wicked,” which has been split into two parts. For now, the second installment is set to release a year later on Dec. 25, 2025. (There aren’t any “Avatar” sequels planned for 2025… at the moment.)

Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden announced Thursday that Mitchell will be honored with an all-star tribute concert on March 1 in Washington, D.C. “Joni Mitchell: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song” will premiere on PBS nationwide on March 31.

Mia has claimed that the delay on her forthcoming album Mata is down to verses she’s waiting for from rappers Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat.

On Tuesday (30 August) the artist wrote on her Instagram story that she had waited “two years” for collaborations from the musicians.

She also promised the fans that the album was “coming soon” and said that Mata wasn’t out by September, she would “leak” the record herself.

The “Paper Planes” singer also hinted that she had been waiting on another verse from a mystery artist, before writing “never mind”.

The award will be presented at the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York on Thursday, March 19.

"She is just the most incredible person I've ever met," he said. It took years of hustle and hard work in high heels before RuPaul hit it big in TV. But while he was on the road to becoming a household name and multiple Emmy winner, the host and executive producer of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” never doubted that he was destined for small-screen success.
