After this episode was released, people pointed out that the plot was very similar to Species II (1998). But director Rolfe Kanefsky said he wrote his script long before he even heard of Species II.
Rolfe Kanefsky said Kira Reed and the actors all had to do their own stunts during action sequences due to budget constraints. Reed joked that she was fine doing it even though they risked getting hurt. She said it was fun and for once she didn't have to strip naked to do it.
Director Rolfe Kanefsky said gorgeous actress Sage Kirkpatrick was a casting coup because "she has real large breasts and has no problem with nudity. In fact, she never wore underwear, even while filming in the desert."
