In the song "haan to main kya" in the film , the two characters state that it is the night of 26th January and it is a Friday. The film was released in 1973 and that year 26th January was, indeed, a Friday. But since the story can not happen at the time of viewing, the closest year would be 1968. However, poster of Seeta aur Geeta ( 1972) and reference to Mumtaz film Khilona (1970) are also present in the film. The day mentioned in the song should have been Wednesday ( 1972) or Tuesday ( 1971)
