“First Man” visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert is nominated for an Oscar for his work on Damien Chazelle‘s docudrama, but the director “wasn’t really interested in trying to reimagine” the Gemini and Apollo missions that led up to the moon landing. Lambert explains that what Chazelle wanted was to “recreate that imagery” for modern audiences. Watch our exclusive video interview with Lambert above.
See Frank A. Montano and Jon Taylor Interview: ‘First Man’
In telling the true story of Neil Armstrong‘s historic lunar adventure, Lambert and his team used “different techniques to try and get the most believable image possible.” Those techniques ran “the entire gamut” of effects strategies, from “using a full-sized [space] craft, to using archival footage, to using miniatures, to using all C.G.”
But from the very beginning Chazelle was “adamant that he didn’t want the visual effects to take you out of the movie,...

For visual effects supervisor Matt Johnson, working on “Mary Poppins Returns” felt as if “Disney had given you their crown jewel” to play with. Because the first film is such a “part of our childhoods,” not to mention “a milestone movie in visual effects,” he knew he was “standing on pretty big shoulders” when he accepted the gig. This VFX team is now on the official Academy short list for voter consideration. Watch our exclusive video interview with Johnson above.

Lee Millham risks his life for a living. Getting shot and crashing cars in concrete barriers is all part of the terrain
By rights, Lee Millham should not be alive: he's tumbled from windows, crashed cars, steered a runaway tank and been frequently shot. And while, a complexity of cables, harnesses and scientific vests give him a sporting chance of survival, each new adventure risks nemesis. Almost 20 years into his career as a film and TV stuntman, Millham, 34, still admits to butterflies before every new manoeuvre: "Not because I'm scared, but because often there's only one take and I'm worried I won't get it right."
Stuntpeople are the hidden heroes of cinema. When James Bond hurtles from a plane hatch or Harry Potter flees death eaters on a magical motorbike, it's the stars who reap the glory. The people behind the films' highlights are mere names some way down the closing credits.

New 'Movie 43' delivered outrageously corny comedy, crazy scenes & more. Relativity Media ,dropped their new comedy flick "Movie 43" into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and just thought it served up a lot of corny comedy scenes that were totally random. However, some of them did make me laugh hysterically at times as the scenes were just so outrageous that I just couldn't help it. It starred a plethora of well-known stars. Some of them included: Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Bell, Halle Berry, Leslie Bibb, Kate Bosworth, Gerard Butler, Bobby Cannavale, Common, Kieran Culkin, Josh Duhamel, Anna Faris, Richard Gere, John Hodgman, Terrence Howard, Hugh Jackman, Greg Kinnear, Johnny Knoxville, Justin Long, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Chloë Grace Moretz. In the new flick, a ton of different comedy scenes were served up. Some of them included nasty, dirty, vulgar Batman and Robin scenes. Halle Berry...

Leprechauns, ruined birthdays, and home school taunting.
Romantic comedy anthologies are becoming rather popular these days, particularly ones that revolve around a particular holiday, but comedy anthologies are a hard thing to come by — 2007's The Ten comes to mind as does the classic Kentucky Fried Movie — but coming early next year is Movie 43, which stars almost the entirety of Hollywood and has a director list almost as long. In fact, it's hard to believe there are some actors and directors that aren't associated with Movie 43.
Revealed in just the red band trailer alone, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris share a romantic(?) moment; Halle Berry ruins a blind kid's birthday; Terrence Howard reminds a basketball team of the advantage they have; Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts decide to give their home-schooled son an authentic high school experience; Emma Stone checks in on Kieran Culkin's Std; and Seann William Scott...
