Mumbai, June 26 (Ians) Ravi Behl, who made his comeback as an actor after more than 20 years with the show ‘The Night Manager’, said it felt as if he was back “home”.

Ravi Behl made his acting debut with the film ‘Morchha’ in 1980 and ‘Ghulam-e-Mustafa’ which was released in 1997 was his last film as an actor. Post that he was seen in the show ‘Boogie Woogie’.

As he made his comeback as an actor with the first season of ‘The Night Manager’, he spoke about it during the press conference held for the second season of the show.

Talking about his career graph, he said: “I don’t believe my career went up and down. I feel everyone goes through this. I did ‘Narsimha’, ‘Agnisakshi’ and ‘Ghulam-E-Mustafa’. Post that , I did ‘Boogie Woogie’ for 15 years. When ‘Boogie Woogie’ ended, I thought now I don’t want to do anything. I took a long break.

Mumbai, March 16 (Ians) Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji remembered the shooting of the movie ‘Ghulam’ and how even after having high fever her co-star Aamir Khan continued to work without taking any break and this became an inspiration for her to give importance to work.

When Rani listened to ‘Indian Idol 13’ contestant Senjuti Das’s rendition of ‘Jadoo Hai Tera’ from Vikram Bhatt’s 1998 film ‘Ghulam’, she recollected her shooting days with Aamir in Manali, Himachal Pradesh.

Rani told Senjuti: “When you started singing the song from ‘Ghulam’, I had flashbacks because when I started filming for ‘Ghulam,’ I was only 17 years old. Aamir Khan, who is one of India’s biggest stars, was opposite me. I very well remember that we were shooting in Manali for the song and Aamir was down with a high fever. Around that time, I witnessed the dedication of an artist who continued to work even with a fever.

The Rolling Stones will mark the 40th anniversary of their 1981 album, Tattoo You, with a reissue featuring a bonus disc filled with previously unreleased material. The set will arrive on October 22nd via Polydor/Interscope/UMe.

Slave Play playwright Jeremy O. Harris will donate a collection of 15 plays by Black playwrights to 53 libraries and community centers across the country, a donation made in lieu of sending Slave Play scripts to Tony Award voters.

O. Harris made the announcement last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, telling the NBC talk show host that a donation of The Golden Collection has been made in Meyers’ name to his alma mater Northwestern University. The playwright said the donation was made to recognize Meyers’ early and continued support of Slave Play.

The 10-episode series from “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes adapts the New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler about Anna Sorokin, a.k.a. Anna Delvey, the 28-year-old who faked being a German heiress to swindle New York elite out of more than $200,000.

Writer/directors Nora Niasari and Larissa Behrendt and producers Lucy Hayes and Mitchell Stanley have been selected to participate in Australians in Film (AiF) and Screen Australia’s Mentor La program.

The participants will be matched mentors writer Luke Davies director Alethea Jones, Animal Logic CEO Zareh Nalbandian and director of creative development, Columbia Pictures Jiao Chen (Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Unchartered).

Each participant will receive four one-hour sessions with their mentor; three online, and one face-to-face in Los Angeles once international travel restrictions are lifted. Each receives return airfares, and living expenses for five days in La.

The meetings are designed to provide recipients with personalised, first-hand experience of the challenges and knowledge these mentors have learnt from working in the highly competitive Hollywood system. The knowledge provided will help not only bolster their careers, but the professional capacity of the broader Australian screen sector.

Bollywood’s famous Bhatt camp has made hugely successful remakes of Hollywood films (Ghulam, Murder and Raaz, to name a few) but have not always been generous in giving credit to the original source. However, they have made a clean break with past tradition in their latest offering CityLights. The fact that the film is a remake of the British thriller Metro Manila is mentioned right in the opening credits at least half a dozen times. And it’s a welcome irony that this fully credited desi copy of a much acclaimed original is one of the most authentic products from the Bhatt camp in a long time.

CityLights, produced by Mukesh Bhatt and directed by Hansal Mehta (Shahid), is a novel and refreshing take on crime in the maximum city that eschews many clichés in favor of a moving, original human drama.
