The film begins interesting and promising. Eventually it loses a lot of its strength and becomes less psychologically rich and more obvioulsy formulaic. Anyway, it is still a nice and underrated drama about youth, sexuality (with a lot of sex), escapism through drug using, misogyny (more present than properly discussed), and so forth. Soundtrack is weird but interesting. The same may be said about some scenes, which are however not properly necessary for the script. The movie worsens when there is made a contrast between the young idle generation without ideals in late 70's and early 80's and a socially concerned older generation which loves life, a silly and artificial narrative twist. The frustrating ending follows it in a moralist and not really deep outcome.
