Allow me to rectify a few errors first. Though this film is credited to one "Erica Fox", this is most definitely NOT the woman most commonly known as Tami White, a delightful and talented adult actress (just check out her award-winning turn as the spirit of Juliet in Paul Thomas' superlative ROMEO AND JULIET 2), who was not to enter the industry for a couple of years yet as this movie was being made, or should I say assembled. As a matter of fact, Ms. Fox wasn't a woman at all but rather Belgian-born director Ted Roter a/k/a "Peter (or Pierre) Balakoff". As most sources, even those that claim some authority like the late Robert Rimmer's X-rated Videotape Guide, make no mention of it, I must point out that ENDLESS LUST is in fact a compilation in disguise, made up for at least two thirds of its running time of footage from Roter's RING OF DESIRE and THE MASTER AND MS. JOHNSON ! If you have seen either or both of these superior films, there's precious little reason to bother with this one as there's just a single, rather ho-hum sex scene shot specifically for the occasion.
Cute framing device has Erica (perpetually wide-eyed Gena Lee, mesmerizing as Nancy Hoffman's retarded sibling in Roter's questionable ONE PAGE OF LOVE a/k/a TWO SISTERS), wife of philandering senator Jack Doucette (John Holyfield hamming it up with a Southern drawl), hitting the talk show circuit as she reveals all on the Larry Moore show. While this connecting footage is often quite funny and engagingly acted by Lee, there's no getting around the fact that the viewer's being callously bamboozled by the inadvertent recycling of then recent sex scenes. Most of the fun for me came from seeing what "new" context these scenes were put in, the highlight being Ron Jeremy's re-assignation from the masseur character he played in RING to Iranian ambassador in his scene with Hillary Summers (the unforgettable title character from Ron Sullivan's THE BUDDING OF BRIE) who goes rather less extremely from strung-out hooker to Erica's kid sister.
Lots of orgy stuff was culled from both flicks and is now being passed off as debauched parties attended by horny officials, their families and affiliates. A very young and exceptionally pretty Drea, Bill Margold's longtime girlfriend, is heavily featured in all of her RING sequences with Kevin James (you may have to look hard to recognize him though) on the desk, a bearded Paul Thomas in a photo studio and Georgina Spelvin on the couch. Despite her high billing, due to star power rather than actual screen time, this is Spelvin's only appearance here and it's not exactly her finest hour.
While Roter frequently took the male lead in many of his movies including PAUL, LISA AND CAROLINE and SCANDALOUS SIMONE, he relinquished those duties to Larry Moore for MASTER and this one. Similarly to Roter, Moore was middle-aged, not as suave as he seemed to think and forever struggling for wood. The one thing missing was the director's heavy French accent, which at least makes Moore's extensive dialog intelligible. Thank Heaven for small favors ! Moore gets to maul Lee during the film's single original sex scene, inter-cut with Monique Fabergé who, like Lee and Holyfield, only appears to have worked for Roter throwing it down with a handsome, uncredited dude who wordlessly essays the part of Moore's assistant, and boy does he need one ! Production history information being the dark minefield that it is as far as pornography's concerned and details on Roter's oeuvre being even sketchier than most, it's hard to fathom why this modestly talented filmmaker who could otherwise never be blamed for lack of trying even if results weren't always up to expectations would choose to blemish his reputation with such an obvious and misleadingly marketed cash-in. Perhaps that's why the "Erica Fox" nom de porn came into being, a rather pointless gesture as Roter's omnipresence is quite clear from the "Balakoff" producer credit right down to his repertory cast.
